APMichael 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2012 the folder \etc is marked as Read-only but it will clean the backup files as long as they aren't read only [Windows HOSTs Backup*] LangSecRef=3025 DetectFile=%WinDir%\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS Default=False FileKey1=C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc|hosts.*.backup I think the entry "[Windows HOSTs Backup*]" is not necessary, because it is included already: [spybot Search and Destroy Hosts Backups*] LangSecRef=3024 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Spybot - Search & Destroy Default=False FileKey1=%WinDir%\System32\drivers\etc|hosts.*.backup I don't know any other program that makes those backup files ("hosts.yyyymmdd-nnnnnn.backup"). Alan_B 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2012 I think this needs change / warning / removal [Comodo IS Repair (backups)*] LangSecRef=3021 DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cfp.exe Default=False FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\Repair|*.*|RECURSE 1. Originally the ...\Repair\ folder was always maintained by Comodo, and the instant I deleted it then it was recreated together with all its contents. It is supposed to be some sort of backup. Especially it holds the previous version of bases.cav which holds the anti-virus definitions. More recently it seems that Comodo does not maintain the contents - I guess greater confidence in the product, but every time time there is an A.V. update the old gets copied here, so half of the space is refilled. Some years ago an update went wrong and many people lost connectivity for perhaps a day. It is nice to know that should I lose the internet again the remedy could be to use the previous bases.cav. I feel there ought to be a warning about purging this folder. 2. If Comodo is Uninstalled it is extremely unlikely that cfp.exe will remain - this is the GUI interface. If installation is not 100% effective then perhaps ...\Repair\ and all its contents will remain, therefore I propose to replace the DetectFile with DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\Repair Alan

levmette 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 I use Picasa to organize and edit photos but I don't want to keep the backup copies of the original images that it creates. In the folder with the image I edited, it creates a folder called ".picasaoriginals" and saves a copy of the original image in it. I would normally just use CCleaner's option to include a certain folder to clean but I have stored images in 50+ folders on my external hard drive and I do not want to add each one separately if possible. Would you be able to create a way to delete all of these original images at once with CCleaner? I would really appreciate it!
Winapp2.ini 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 I guess you could use ehh.. Root Directory of your external|*.picasaoriginals|RECURSE but given the nature of how it works, making a CCleaner entry would be pretty inefficient.
