Just wondering have you given a thought to creating the Winsys2.ini file to separate out some of the many Windows related cleaning tasks? I see the only change you would need is to change the SecRef. I also see that it doesn't require you to use detection in the Winsys2 file which could increase loading speed. I am impressed that there are now well over 700 hundred entries added!!

New Entry

[user Default Download Directory *]

LangSecRef=3025

Detect Paths:%UserProfile%\Downloads

Default=False

FileKey1=%UserProfile%\Downloads|*.*|RECURSE

I could do this if you guys would like me to.

Perhaps I could make different file sets, 1 "full" winapp2.ini that is as it is now, and 1 "reduced" one, that'd have entries removed and placed in the separate "winsys2.ini"

Due for a renaming, certainly. I will rename it for the next iteration.

[Defragmentation List*]
LangSecRef=3025
DetectFile=%WinDir%
Default=False
FileKey1=%WinDir%\Prefetch|Layout.ini

The above entry negates part of the features of Perfectdisk in that it prevents Perfectdisk from aligning programs so that the system will boot faster. I recommend that this entry before or a warning message be inserted. It may also negatively affect other third party defraggers (I do not know this for fact, but it may). The link below further explains how Perfectdisk interfaces with Layout.ini.

Suggested Warning message:

[Defragmentation List*]
LangSecRef=3025
Warning=DO NOT use if your system has PerfectDisk defragging software.
DetectFile=%WinDir%
Default=False
FileKey1=%WinDir%\Prefetch|Layout.ini

Thanks for the update!

Missed entry:

[bookmark Backups*]

LangSecRef=3026

DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox

Warning=This will delete all bookmark backups. Make sure to backup them manually.

Default=False

FileKey1=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*\bookmarkbackups|*.json

New entries:

[3ware 3DM2*]

LangSecRef=3024

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%\3ware

Default=False

FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\3ware|tw_mgmt.log

[Dyn Updater*]

LangSecRef=3022

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%\Dyn\Updater

Default=False

FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Dyn\Updater|dyndns.log

And could a user of iTunes test the following entry, please? If iTunes doesn't want to download its installer again, we can add this entry to the winapp2.ini also.

[Apple Installer Cache*]

LangSecRef=3023

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%\Apple Computer

Default=False

FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\*|*.*

FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\Apple\Installer Cache\*|*.*

The bookmark backups get deleted after a week or so, is it worth it to delete them with CCleaner?

IMHO it is worth. Before I make a new disk image I'd like to have a clean system (without those 6 backup files per user account).

DITTO!....but it it has to do with Firefox, it should have a Firefox heading vs [bookmark Backups*] heading....same as [Extensions Logs*], [Crash Reports*] and [Dump Files*]

Yes I seen that. But if the heading began with [Firefox ....] it would be easier to find by looking at the heading vs searching for Firefox....IMHO....unless I misunderstood the purpose of [HEADING] :unsure:

Well, I can change it if people want me to, but it'll look redundant in the actual program itself.

No don't change it, they are all confused about what headinbg means

The Firefox entries don't need to say firefox because they are grouped together under firefox

Like this (but in your mind replace safari with firefox)

That's what I was trying to say, but I think they want it changed for the sake of the alphabetization of the file entries.

I've always treated these the same as prefetch, I clean it maybe once a month, But definatly not for daily cleaning.

I'd really rather that not go into the public template it causes too many issues for too many regular ccleaner users, as I've said before you can add it to your own if you want (personal discretion and all) but i think it is asking for trouble in the public file.

That's how I've been treating the prefetch and softwaredistro folders.
