Sorry for the confusion, I do NOT have the ExcludeKey. Possibly confused during posting because I was tired and looking at what's been posted on here and what's in two different cleaning programs using two different versions of supposedly the same cleaning entry.

Trying to determine why CCleaner is no longer breaking it even though as you say it's essentially the same as before, and why BleachBit always breaks it.
...
Edit: Maybe ignore the BleachBit stuff and only focus on what's here for CCleaner. Why am I making this more confusing.:lol:

Thanks again, for your reply.

E1: The ExcludeKey of the BleachBit entry is no longer necessary, we removed it some time ago. And it couldn't be the culprit for the issue. Even the wildcards in the directory names don't change the situation, only changes have been made to make the entry easier to read.

E2: The FileKey9 of the BleachBit entry is also not necessary as it is already covered by FileKey6. They have removed the same files.

So, if you really don't use the ExcludeKey you posted here, then it's very strange that your entry doesn't break Cortana anymore, because without the ExcludeKey the same files will be deleted as with the BleachBit entry. Would it be too much to ask, if you would please post your complete entry here?

oops, sorry :(

Actually I have discovered that there is a FilmOn TV app and a FilmOn Live TV app, both with the same file structure in Packages.

So I suggest one entry named:
[FilmOn TV and/or FilmOn Live TV *]

[FilmOn TV and/or FilmOn Live TV *]
LangSecRef=3031
Detect1=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\FilmOnLiveTVFree.FilmOn_zx03kxexxb716
Detect2=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\FilmOnLiveTVFree.OmniverseTV_zx03kxexxb716

Default=False
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Packages\FilmOnLiveTVFree.*_*\AC\INet*|*.*|RECURSE
FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Packages\FilmOnLiveTVFree.*_*\AC\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0\UsageLogs|*.*|RECURSE
FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\Packages\FilmOnLiveTVFree.*_*\AC\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\*|*.*
FileKey4=%LocalAppData%\Packages\FilmOnLiveTVFree.*_*\AC\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore|*.*|RECURSE
FileKey5=%LocalAppData%\Packages\FilmOnLiveTVFree.*_*\AC\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache|*.*
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\FilmOnLiveTVFree.FilmOnLiveTVFree_zx03kxexxb716\SearchHistory

If that is not acceptable, then I agree to split it into two separate entries...most assuredly. ;)

Thanks, but unfortunately, there's still an inconsistency:

The original Detect used "FilmOnLiveTVFree.FilmOnLiveTVFree_zx03kxexxb716" like the RegKey1. On your image it is now "FilmOnLiveTVFree.FilmOn_zx03kxexxb716". Do we then need a Detect3?

I ran the Cortana entry in BleachBit and it didn't need any special operation "delete on reboot", it deleted them outright - and to make things even more confusing it didn't break Cortana this time on reboot. I'm starting to think something in the two perhaps three recent Windows updates my computer installed for Windows 10 v1803 is preventing it from breaking Cortana but that's just a guess with no proof - but Microsoft would have error reports which I don't have cleaned.

Yes, you're right, the changed DetectFile should always match. :)

Ok, then we won't be able to solve the mystery for now. I will then proceed with the compromise as in my post:

Were [My Office *] modifications not acceptable?  They do not show up in the latest released update.

[Store Purchase *] and [PCMark 10 Logs *] are not included either. ??

In the latest release only the support for different variants of the Brave browser has been added. The "updates from the community" are not finished yet, I think I can update them tomorrow.

The latest version of the file "Winapp2.ini" now supports Brave Beta and Dev.

You should also add the browsers to CCleaner using one of the following methods:

Anyone that uses Windows Defender and also uses a downloaded HOSTS file should know that Windows Defender is archiving HOSTS file backups, it uses a good amount of space over many months if your HOSTS file is always large.

Look in (probably will get a UAC prompt):
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\BackupStore

Look inside a few of the extension-less files, and you'll see archived old HOSTS files. I've already manually deleted all of them on my system.

I'm wondering is this something for Winapp2.ini to possible clean?

Based on the modification date of the folder, it looks as if my Windows Defender has never used this folder before. If all the files are just copies of the HOSTS file, I think we could add this to Winapp2.ini. (It's also just a subfolder of "Scans", so there probably won't be any really important data stored there.)

FileKeyX=%CommonAppData%\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\BackupStore|*.*

@Winapp2.ini I think the proper way to name entries should be based off of their names in the Start Menu, which is how we had it and what other programs do. Someone has recently started changing those names and is damaging all the hard work I, and other people here, have done.

On my systems, if I use the cleaning code below for Netflix, it does not seem to break the Netflix app and cleans out a lot of empty folders in DOMStore.  Does this hold true for your systems?   Unfortunately, the Netflix app generates multiple folders containing www.netflix(1).xml :angry:
