you are right, I stand corrected.

Backup now & backup often.
It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.

The next update or 2, I should be done with all the major, big stuff. After that, I will compare entries with Winapp and then after that, some through testing should be done to make sure nothing broke in the process.

[Windows Live OneCare*]
LangSecRef=3022
Detect=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\OneCare Protection
Default=False
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live OneCare Saftey Scanner|*.sqm|RECURSE

The built in disk cleaner does all the same cleaning that onecare did, the registry cleaner was highly unstable in this program, and the database for malware is all in MSE/Windows Defender.

This is the last of all the big, major stuff for overhauling Winapp2. I will then look over Winapp1 and compare and remove duplicate entries from Winapp2, then I think if no issues arose, Winapp2 can be considered stable again.

Can't the requested remove entries for old OSes like Win9x/Me, or whatever be instead taken out of the main winapp2.ini file and put into an legacy one for Win9x/Me systems.

What's the most current version this works with I finally took the time to get it again with my current pc after I updated to v5.29 and followed the instructions explicitly even unblocked the file from another computer in properties. Tried both current release and development version used the winappdebug.exe pinned on the forums removed all blank spaces at beginning of lines using a text editor. Yet CCleaner still runs as default.

In reflection should have made a new topic but I cant find a way to delete my post <_<

I mean I could move them to the removed entries file, but if none of the cleaners even runs on 9.x/Me, I don't really see much of a point. I suppose it could be possible to run Winapp2 through a batch script on Windows ME, but ME was a very poor OS and was not popular at it's time, I can't imagine many people are still running it.

This is going to sound stupid of me, but I can't seem to find where CCleaner stores the Winapp1 file anymore. It use to be in it's directory in Program Files, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Does Piriform not allow anyone to modify Winapp1 anymore?

I forgot, older Win9x/Me systems and the last CCleaner version that worked on them may not have had support for winapp2.ini.

---------------

winapp1.ini is embedded inside CCleaner.exe. You can export it with this command line (note it will export all the .INI files, look in the CCleaner folder for them after exporting):

ccleaner.exe /export

Thanks for the updates!

Those entries still have brackets:

[Add New Hardware Wizard (MRU)*]
[Creative Soundblaster (Cache & Logs)*]
[DisplayFusion (Setup File & Log)*]
[OcenAudio (MRU)*]

Please swap position of these two entries:

[Firefox HTML5 Storage*]

I did a quick comparing with Winapp1 and everything seemed to be fine. It's a little hard to do since Winapp1 is not very well organized, but from what I could tell, everything seemed alright as is. if there are no issues with the current development build of Winapp2, I will go ahead and consider it stable for the public to use.

For FileKey1 there can't be RECURSE and REMOVESELF used together, at least not to my knowledge since I've never once seen them used together like that.

If it's to actually remove the directory just leave REMOVESELF.

I don't use that program so I can't test it, maybe this?

FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Zoner\ZPS *\Cache|*.*|REMOVESELF

or this, if the folder must remain - because sometimes removing a required folder breaks a program:

FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Zoner\ZPS *\Cache|*.*|RECURSE

You can't have 2 names the same in CCleaner, so "more" must be used if that entry exists in CCleaner already.
