Moderators mta Posted March 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 11, 2013 Does anyone know why IE 10 for windows 7 keeps creating a Adobe folder in the Roaming folder of the users/app data ? I don't have flash installed so am wondering why every time I delete the thing that IE 10 keeps recreating it . I know it's probably off topic but figgered this to be the best place to get an answer or maybe some idea why. quick guess would be an adobe plug-in Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
Moderators Nergal Posted March 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 11, 2013 I never got an answer as to why winapp2.ini kept deleting my search settings either after the last update. ] no that was the right place for that, we just aren't sure why it happened and as yet cannot recreate it iirc ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Alan_B
I read it that that folder only contained links, but that it would count that link as the actual file, as well as the file it links to. So the winsxs folder is actually just the size of the few bytes a folder of links takes up. I'll happily admit I may have misunderstood it though I have investigated WinSXS some more and report my findings at http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=38203 I knew WinSXS was bad but now I am appalled. Some experts claim the real things are in WinSXS and the Hard Links are in System32 and SysWOW64. I find that infact Microsoft changed the rules with every executable that it created.
