Winapp2.ini additions

Winapp2.ini

Recommended Posts

You have missed some of my modified entries:

[code]
[star Wars: The Old Republic*]
LangSecRef=3021
DetectFile1=%ProgramFiles%\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic
Default=False
FileKey1=%Documents%|Install STAR WARS The Old Republic.log
FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\SWTOR\CrashDump\swtor|*.*
FileKey3=%ProgramFiles%\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\betatest\retailclient\Temp|*.log
FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\logs|*.log
FileKey5=%ProgramFiles%\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient\swtor\logs|*.log
FileKey6=%UserProfile%\Documents|Uninstall STAR WARS The Old Republic.log

Modified & added FileKeys.

Ah ok, but %Documents% is shorter! :D

Yep. ;)

I only mention it because (as above) many entries people submit use %UserProfile%\Documents instead of just %Documents% :)

Is %Documents% documented ? :rolleyes:

I was not aware of it, and it is not part of the environment for Windows 7 Ultimate + SP1

Are there other special variables I should be aware of

A fresh install of Windows 7 doesn't creates the registry key listed below. Some of the programs (e.g: Norton programs) create this key in Windows 7 registry. Deleting this key is completely safe.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam

There is an issue with RealPlayer 15. It creates a registry key that belongs to the RealPlayer 12. I am listing the registry key here.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0

Because of this CCleaner detects Real Player SP 12 and Real Player 15. Deleting the above key is completely safe.

%Documents%

%Videos%

%Music%

Not standard variables, but CCleaner ones.

%CommonAppData% points to ProgramData or \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

I've actually got a new entry to add for first time in ages thanks to currently trying Easeus Backup:

[*EaseUS ToDo Backup logs]
LangSecRef=3024
Detect=HKCU\Software\EaseUS\EaseUS Todo Backup
Default=True
Filekey1=%ProgramFiles%\EaseUS\Todo Backup\bin|easeus.log
Filekey2=%ProgramFiles%\EaseUS\Todo Backup\bin|TbLogsysClient.tblog

A small disclaimer - easeus.log can only be deleted if the Easeus Agent service is not running. I have included it anyway as I have that service set to manual, some other users may too and it seems to get quite sizeable. And it's actually the other log file that clears the logs you see within the program itself and that deletes regardless of the service running.

the folder \etc is marked as Read-only but it will clean the backup files as long as they aren't read only
