Winapp2.ini additions

And a Media Player entry now has Xilisoft lines in it, whilst the Xilisoft entry has been removed :huh: Either I'm misunderstanding it or the GitHub idea is going tits up at the mo.

Ok, may I say a few things to everyone, to avoid future confusion.

1. Please make sure that you are looking at the Winapp2 file on GitHub and NOT the one here, because the one on GitHub is more updated then this one (actually I don't know if he still plans on publishing them here anymore).

2. Please do not post entries twice, meaning don't post here and on GitHub. Just post on one or the other and Winapp2 or I will get to it eventually. If we missed it, then just throw us a friendly reminder.

3. Please continue to show the modifications you do for each modified entry (like show which FileKey was corrected) and make sure to give the reason why a entry should be removed (like it was added to CCleaner or duplicated somewhere, etc).

Thank you everyone for your understanding (I am really showing my tech support/moderator side, huh).

Can you please tell me which entry you are seeing Xilisoft FileKeys in (also make sure you are looking at the one on GitHub and not here, as I stated in my previous post).

I was referring to the changelog link you posted before my post which has this in it:

 [Stored Media Player Paths*]
 LangSecRef=3025
 Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows
 RegKey5=HKCU\Software\Xilisoft\Video Converter Ultimate\Settings|recent_profiles
 RegKey6=HKCU\Software\Xilisoft\Video Converter Ultimate\Settings\output

(Github version is horrendous to view in Notepad when dowloaded btw  :huh:  )

EDIT: Looks like Github is confusing me and I simply don't understand the changelog layout as that is not in the actual file (Once I found an actual way to download winapp2 from Github that is. And that was AFTER I somehow downloaded an old version from there. User friendly it is not :rolleyes: )

Yes, it can be a bit confusing, but once you get use to it, it's actually not that bad. It is only the highlighted stuff that you need to look at. The way GitHub works, is that it will show you what was changed, plus an extra 3 lines above the changes and 3 lines down. What you are seeing is where it got cut, which is why there was a line in between them, so they look like that.

I missed this post the first time. with your, and @Winapp2.ini's, permission, I'd like to change the first post to include it. Would also love to make the first post more modern (add github infos current maintainers etc) maybe we can work via pm to do so or here in the open, idk. Or just do it yerselves I don't mind. Currently android bound as my pc is an idiot so it's in timeout.

Aaaaah, that explains the mixed up entries I was seeing. I was reading it as red - removed, green - added, white - unchanged :rolleyes:

I'm guessing nothing can be done about the wall of text that winapp2 downloads as?

Does this help the "wall of text issue"

I am viewing them in Wordpad and Notepad++, and I don't see the wall of text there, so I think this is more of a notepad issue.

@Nergal: Well, I don't have editing permissions here, so I can't do it, lol. The only maintainers there are is Winapp2 and me. Also, the link you sent is for Git, which I don't use that.

Yes it shows that in Add/Remove as well, but still when I was looking for a cleaner for it in winapp2.ini (looking for AVG AntiVirus) it never occurred to me it would be named AVG Protection. Doesn't really matter to me what it's named in winapp2.ini, I've named it AVG AntiVirus in my own personal winapp2.ini file, so that's good enough.

They look good to me, but you don't need to post a text file showing us what it cleans. Also, just post the entries here and anyone who uses it will say if it is good or not. Not like anyone who doesn't use it is going to know what it does anyways.

Will the Version # continue to be updated with each update?

I have only been updating the # of entries as new entries arrive in Winapp2 (also the # of removed entries in the non-CCleaner version). I am not sure what Robert wants to do with the version number scheme. Maybe we might just remove it our of Winapp2 or change it to it's own update scheme (since it previously followed CCleaner, but now since it's seperated...).

I believe you need to re-read what I said.  The entries posted were from the winapp2.ini for the OLD Yahoo Messenger - just asking if anyone has done any entries for the new Yahoo messenger desktop app client?

Yes, I realized that a little too late. Sorry. Anyways, if you want a entry added/updated, you are better off doing it yourself.
