Does "DetectOS=6.2|6.3" work? This should detect Windows 8 (=6.2) and 8.1 (=6.3) only.

DetectOS=6.2|6.3 keeps it from displaying on Windows 10.  However, I don't know if it displays on Windows 8 because I no longer have Windows 8 on any of my systems.

How about these? They are compatible with Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10. The highlighted lines are for Windows 8/8.1.

are there any cleaning routine differences between the two that may cause issues on either?

I have basically merged both of the entries together. I have tested these on Windows 10, no issues whatsoever.

@CSGalloway are those common files? Are they created by a particular program? Sounds like their something that you, in particular, do manually but maybe I am wrong

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

I had moved files files from an external drive to my c: drive and along came some BAK and TMP files - so I hought it might be nice to add the option for other winapp2.ini users to check their 4 user folders to see if they have any.

I think Amazon Music program places a TMP file in %Music% folder - not sure when but maybe whe4n it checks for upgrades top the software...

I found a few entries with weird "Detect" lines and just wanted to make sure those are correct:

DetectOS=|5.1
DetectOS=|6.1
DetectOS=|5.1
DetectOS=|5.2
DetectOS=|5.1
DetectOS=|5.1

Why the "|" for the DetectOSs?

Why the "|" for the DetectOSs?

Usually DetectOS works as follows: DetectOS=from|to

For example: DetectOS=6.0|6.3 detects Windows versions from Vista to 8.1.

If you leave the "from" side blank it includes all previous versions. If you leave the "to" side blank it includes all subsequent versions.

For example: DetectOS=|6.0 detects all Windows versions from XP to Vista. And DetectOS=6.0| detects all Windows versions from Vista to 10.

If you omit the pipe symbol "|" (e.g. DetectOS=6.0) it should be the same like leaving the "to" side blank (e.g. DetectOS=6.0|).

The only strange thing is that DetectOS apparently doesn't work correctly in Windows 10 (see previous posts). Maybe this will be fixed in a future CC release.

I have been watching this area for a while now. I just installed AVG Protection and after I installed it, it left three SourceHash files in C:\Windows\Installer. I opened these SourceHash files with Notepad and they all have traces of AVG Protection msi installer. Please look at the attached snapshots: one shows AVG Protection msi installers Signature list and the other one shows the SourceHash files that were created after I installed AVG Protection.
