Java update installs McAfee

Dennis, I got rid of Java and turned off the Firefox Java add-on and extension. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. I guess I never had any need for it. You're right, it's safer not to have a possible malware snagger buried in my machine. ;)

That's good to hear.

 

It all depends on your internet use really. I'm not into gaming and such, so I'm unlikely to come across any situation which would require me to install it again.

 

You've got nothing to lose by giving it a try, but maybe something to gain.
