Compumind
Hi there: Speccy 1.09.231 is not properly reporting my AV and FW software. I am using Norton Internet Security 2011, while Speccy reports back McAfee. Firewall Firewall Enabled Company Name McAfee Display Name Product Version Antivirus Antivirus Enabled Company Name McAfee Display Name McAfee VirusScan Product Version Note that the Product Version is not displayed as well. There isn't a trace of McAfee on the system in question, running XP, SP3. What's up? TIA
Moderators Nergal Posted March 11, 2011 Moderators Share Posted March 11, 2011 There's an error in speccy's AV/Security detection. This is a known issue and the developers are looking into it. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Compumind
Just curious... Any ETA on a fix for this? TIA
Moderators Nergal Posted March 15, 2011 Moderators Share Posted March 15, 2011 I don't believe there is one yet. The Devs don't usually give an ETA unless the change has been committed to the program. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators DennisD Posted April 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 12, 2011 For the second time you've placed identical topics in two separate Speccy sections, so I've deleted the other one. Since you made the above post, this thread now covers the recent version of Speccy as well.
Moderators Nergal Posted April 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 12, 2011 Yup, I'm still not displaying AV in 1.10 (which claims to be better at but not fixing the issue completely) Honestly I'm not too supprised that AV don't readily show them selves to apps like this, again it would make malware's job easier if it were) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Accurate system information is key. I really thought this problem would have been resolved by now in 1.10 Could a Dev acknowledge this continuing issue? Many thanks. Compumind
Hi MrRon - Where do I obtain the logfile and how to PM it to you? Thanks! Bump! How long do I have to wait for a reply? I thought that Piriform would be more proactive on this.

Moderators Nergal Posted April 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 26, 2011 He'd probably rather you include all items in the window which opens with the debug command You need to type (with the quotes) in your run box "C:\program files\Speccy\speccy.exe" /debug replace c:\program files\speccy\ with the location of your speccy if it is different than that. also He wants you to attach (to the PM) a copy of the speccy report (file>save as text file) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators Nergal Posted May 3, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 3, 2011 I'm sorry but I think you should let the developers decide what is useful information. When I get to the send message screen, I cannot find anything called 'choose full editor' so I can attach the log files. However, It was updating the .txt file (after some normal initialization data) with this - [2011-05-04 14:18:37] [iNFO ] ATI detection GPU - Status 0, count 1 (60, 0 0) Nothing else, so after 1 hour I decided to terminate the Debug. Am I doing something wrong? Seems pretty clear to me. Compumind :0)
Moderators Nergal Posted May 6, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2011 I can't answer that and neither can you. If the developers have asked for the log (whether you think it normal or not) you should submit it. Especially with this issue as the problem is not that speccy isn't working the problem is that speccy is recieving bad information. Why are you fighting posting a log? if it was asked for you should probably submit it if you want this issue fixed. Problem is that when I check off all the boxes and sub-boxes, there is no notification that the debug is complete. The file size is always increasing. When does the debug end? Ideas? Moderators Nergal Posted May 10, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 10, 2011 There is no complete to the debug unless there is a crash.
