He said it could be file type associations or just a bad install of windows. My suggestion is that you just reformat again since your not to far into getting all your stuff back. And then there is an error which makes it unable to extract the archive. Could be a corrupt download, try to download it again. If you used a download manager last time, then dont use it this time.
