Hav0c
Hello all, Something that I read here with regards to Pi-hole and is also, I think, applicable to uBlock Origin. Quote When hosting stuff like blocklists on GitHub, please make sure you do not use raw.githubusercontent.com links. Since these links don’t provide the last-modified header, they will get re-downloaded every single time pihole -g is run (or each week automatically) even if there are no new changes. That’s a waste of time and bandwidth I tried NOT using the raw.githubusercontent.com links that I have posted a while back and insted use https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/hosts https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/hosts_browser https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/hosts_optional https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/MiningServerIPList.txt https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/list.txt https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/list_browser.txt https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/list_optional.txt https://zerodot1.github.io/CoinBlockerLists/list_browser_UBO.txt within my uBlock Origin AND my Pi-hole and all seems to work "better?" responce time is faster. Side note: The link provided host one MASSIVE blocking list broken up in couple of files and whitelist file. Every line of code written by man can be undone by man . Hav0c
Hello all, If my memory serves, someone was looking for a massive list of host files.... Well, here is a variety for you all that I stumbled upon somehow. (My memory of posting that link in the past fails me though ) Every line of code written by man can be undone by man . Moderators Andavari Posted September 27, 2018 Moderators Share Posted September 27, 2018 That URLs own malware blocking one is relatively large.

Lets say one combines all the entries into one list and 50% is duplicates. The amount of unique entries will still be one massive amount and the lists will just keep on growing day by day.... Moderators Nergal Posted October 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2018 Thanks as always ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Andavari Posted January 8, 2019 Moderators Share Posted January 8, 2019 If you're worried about the update interval you don't have to solely rely upon MVPS, I don't. There's also others such as Dan Pollock's, MalwareDomainList, and Peter Lowe's that I use.

Moderators Andavari Posted February 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2019 This one is updated very frequently, to the point it's hard to keep up with: Dan Pollock's HOST File: 0.0.0.0 Text Version:https://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/hosts 127.0.0.1 Text Version:https://someonewhocares.org/hosts/hosts
Moderators Andavari Posted February 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2019 If dealing with multiple HOSTS files it helps to have a tool like the no longer developed and homepageless HostsXpert that works very well in Windows XP up to Windows 10. In it you can import multiple HOSTS files, and even sort them which will remove all those comments and nuke any duplicates. Plus it's 100% portable! It's what Nergal mentioned years ago and after seeing his recommendation I started using it. It's still archived and available at: * https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/hostsxpert.html * https://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Security-Related/Hoster.shtml * http://www.snapfiles.com/get/hoster.html
