I've seen adserver opt-out's before like for Doubleclick, etc., however if they're blocked in your HOSTS file there's no need to even bother letting them cookie you with instructions not to track you. I'd personally rather trust the HOSTS file over them!!!

you would need to exempt that cookie ...

It's not one cookie, it's a cookie for every company in that list! I just tried it, and it created about 100 cookies. Needless to say, I will not exempt any of these, and continue to clean cookies with CCleaner.

yeah, this seems fairly simlar to the BeefTaco and Taco add-ons for firefox in that they create the opt out cookie for each opt-out-able site

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
