SRWare Iron settings

Does anyone know how to get under the hood of SRWare Iron beyond it's basic settings?

 

I'd like to completely disable animated GIF images, but can't find any relevant searches that state how to do it.

You mean block ads?

 

Have a look at AdBlock and AdThwart.

 

I personally use AdThwart, but they are both good.

You can't just block .gif images, many websites use them.

 

For example, the program images on filehippo.com are in .gif format.

 

If you blocked .gif images, you wouldn't be able to see (for example) the CCleaner icon on this page.

Thank you for the suggestions however you misunderstood what I was asking. I stated to disable animated GIF's, i.e.; stop them from being animated not block them entirely.

 

I no longer need any help though because I've already removed SRWare Iron since I like to dig into a browsers settings far more than it allows.

Firefox's about:config doesn't seem to have anything related to GIFs

In Opera it's something like about:config>multimedia> untick show animation.

 

In IE8 its internet options>advanced>multimedia>untick play animations.

 

Don't know about firefox but must be something similar.

 

SRWare has not option for this as yet as far as I know.

For a quick "gif" fix in Firefox, just press the escape key.

 

For a permanent one, stick "about:config" (no quotes) into the address box, scroll down to "image.animation_mode", and change the "normal" to "none".

You're right, and you're wrong.

 

Blocks some, but not others, and doesn't affect the CCleaner image:

 

 

I can live with that, but if folk can't, the "escape key" fix can be used selectively.

Firefox allows it which is one of the main reasons I use it, simply because the animation gets on my nerves far too quickly.

2. In Filter use the following: image.animation_mode

3. Double-click the listed image.animation_mode entry, then type in value: none

4. Close then restart Firefox for the settings to take effect.
