running CCleaner removes "remember me" access

Recommended Posts

I use CCleaner regularly. I have just determined that CCleaner is removing whatever is placed on my computer by various websites that have a "remember me" option.

I have the "Temporary Internet Files" check box checked. I DO NOT have the "Cookies" check box checked.

I had assumed that sites placed whatever it is that they use to recognize me in cookies, which is why I do not have CCleaner remove them. Is my assumption wrong?

What browser are you using?

Have you run checks to make sure it is ccleaner? like restarting the computer/browser and checking. Are you sure it isn't the cookie expiring ? not all are permanent

No fate but what we make

Hi jgermann, and welcome to the forum.

They could also be flash cookies.

Try clearing the box for Adobe flash player.

Cleaner -> Applications -> Multimedia -> Adobe Flash Player.

If you're using Firefox, it may be under Firefox as a plugin.

Also, you could manage what cookies are deleted by moving them from delete to keep.

Options -> Cookies.
