Eli
Hi If I go to Java site to verify my version I get this: Verifying Java Version Oops! You don't have the recommended Java installed. Your Java version is Version 6 Update 15 So I deleted 6-version 15 and tried to download 6-version 16 with no success, so I went back to 6-version 15. Being on version 15 if I try to update it pops up a message that I have the latest version...... I haven`t got a clue what is going on here , did any of you encountered the same mistery? OS : MS windows XP pro sp3 Processor : AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core 3800, 2009Mhz.Mother board : Gygabyte M61 PM-S2 Ram : 3GBDisk space : 649.05 GB Default browser: FirefoxProtection : Sandboxie, MBam free version

You can simply try this steps : 1.Uninstall JRE 6.15 via Add /Remove Program 2.Go to C:\Program Files. Delete all Java folder traces left . 3.Install latest version Java as Andavari gave or this LINK hope this helps

Moderators Andavari Posted September 17, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2009 I guess something is not quite right with the java download site...or maybe my machine is just being reluctant to download from there..... I dunno, I remember someone posting way back about it being listed on two different Sun Java sites, one didn't update as quickly as the other. Maybe that's the one you visited, don't know really. When I used to use Java I'd always just get it from FileHippo. Edit: And that update issue about the installed update checker telling you your version was already up-to-date, that thing never found any new updates on my system, not even once! IreneDelphy
The problem may be one of the following. 1.You might have not deleted the Java files and folders in the Program Files Directory 2.Or there might have been a problem with the new installation or Ptah setting

Moderators Andavari Posted September 18, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2009 Just didn't notice you are just as good at keeping the forum clean This forum is actually very fortunate to have so many moderators, so many others close down due to the amount of spam. Moderators hazelnut Posted September 18, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2009 All the mods here keep a sharp look out for spam. Some just gets deleted without comment, others are left ( with the spam links removed) so folk can see we do notice this problem. Also we rely on other forum members to report any spam via the !report button. As Andavari points out, we are lucky here having a strong mod team to try to keep the forum free of spam.
