ptitrusse
Hi I've been using Ccleaner for years now without problem, and I only discovered the option to wipe free space today. I tried it out, and then checked with TuneUp Undelete if indeed every deleted file had disappeared.. and I got quite a scare... well first off I was surprised to see that I could find more than 6000 files. But that wasn't the worst of it... I started browsing through the list, and a lot of the files seemed to be webpages. what scared me was the name of the websites (they were all inside folders named after a website)... there was a lot of porn, dating websites, stuff life like "my room online" "my life online" etc etc... I'm the only one to use my PC and all of this certainly wasn't my browser history... so I googled the name of one the websites, and found actually it was a website you could visit on the computers in GTAIV ... I had indeed installed it on my drive for a short time before finding out my PC wasn't even close to being able to run it. but still, for a moment I wondered like hell where all of this could have come from.. well back to the subject, The wipe free space option apparently doesn't do its job effectively... anyway Ccleaner is a great tool even without it

I see on my CCleaner I have C drive selected.. this must be the default (?).. for the wipe free space. - and what does that do?
