Location of .ini files

First post here so here we go;

 

The program works - most do not or have too many frivolous options.

 

Requirement;

We run HyperOS and store data off the main working drive so that whatever OS state-of-build we have, programs will usually work with the same data.

Looking quickly through the registry the location of the .ini files looks to be inbuilt and not alterable.

e.g. instead of C:\xxx\ccleaner\yyy.ini we would like to be able to have Z:\User - Data\ccleaner\yyy.ini or whatever

 

Is there any way to instruct the program where the .ini files are located without major re-builds?

Would it be a feasible facility to add?

The ini file is ccleaner.ini which normally resides in the ccleaner folder or where you are running ccleaner.exe from. Goto the ccleaner folder and run ccleaner.exe. Goto Options\Advanced and put a tick in Save all settings to INI file. Now look at the folder again and you will have a ccleaner.ini in there. Go back to CC and remove the tick and ccleaner will disappear again. You can use CC on network drives providing you use the ini options thats if you want the same settings applied to each system.

OK, slight confusion possibly.

 

What I need is for the .ini file to NOT reside in the normal place i.e. for it's location to be selectable.

 

HyperOS allows you to create multiple versions of your C: with different configurations for each.

 

So as far as the OS is concerned you are simply booting C:

however, what you actually boot is a C: with basic install and for example Steam

or a version of C: with a full install and web server for testing

or a linux build or whatever

 

then you have all your documents and base settings on for example Z:

 

so every version of C: picks up it's user documents from Z:\users (windoze speak) and ccleaner would run on every C: but using the .ini file on Z:

Well the location shouldn't matter Paul because where ever ccleaner.exe is run from thats where the ini file should be.
