Hello, I just wanted to ask if anyone of you is familiar with -or has perhaps even used the RegCure (scans, repairs and optimises your PC :-)). e

tc) tool; there is a free version, and a registered version for $29, 90. DOes it do more than our CCleaner?

Thank you.

Greetings, Atnes

I had Regcure on my old PC. My IE7 was not starting up and neither was my outlook, so i found Regcure. I got it online at a reasonable price and it fixed the problems, but i reckon that CCleaner's registry cleaner is a lot better and value for money.

I would stick with CCleaner, just after christmas my PC started playing up after my kids installed a load of games to entertain themselves, but my computer starting going really slow and I think I got some kind of virus from the internet. Anyhow, I started researching registry cleaners and found this: http://www.registrycleanergeeks.com/regcure/ - So, yeah I purchased Regcure and ran it on my machine. It got rid of the error, but it was still running so slow. Then I came across CCleaner and it appears to be a much better program as it found a few more problems than Regcure and now my computer seems a lot quicker.

Hi Jane, and welcome to the forum.

If you have any doubts about Malware on your system, you could have a skoot over here to check things out.

There are a few self help guides, and then you could get help from our Spyware Hell section if you still feel you need it.

"The RegClean utility is no longer supported by Microsoft and has been removed from all Microsoft download sites. This was done for legitimate compatibility reasons with certain applications and Operating Systems. The RegClean utility was originally supplied with Microsoft Visual Basic version 4.0 for Windows. The last version of RegClean was 4.1a (build 7364.1) released on March 13, 1998 (RegClean.exe is dated December 30, 1997). During this time the latest Operating Systems were Windows 95 OSR2.1 and Windows NT 4.0. Windows 98 was not released until June 25, 1998. Compatibility with any Operating System besides Windows 95 and NT 4.0 was never substantiated, especially Windows XP. It is very dangerous to run a Registry Cleaner that was never certified to run on your Operating System since removing the wrong Registry Keys can break Applications and the Operating System. RegClean breaks functionality in the following Applications:
