WarAndPeace Posted July 29, 2008 Share Posted July 29, 2008 Please put a warning on this item The C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstal;........$ directories are used for hotfix uninstalls, as indicated But other things use them too eg Windows Desktop Search 4.0 (which is coming off the Windows/Microsoft servers now). I actually question this items very existence in the Advanced options I would never, ever check it. I can recall at least 2 occasions on which I was advised by MS to remove a particular hotfix in order to help diagnose a problem. I am aware of at least one instance of someone not being able to uninstall WDS, that was probably caused by having this option checked Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
