CCleaner appears to place temporary files in c:\windows\temp, with file names such as Perflib_Perfdata_xxx.dat

I have observed that these are not deleted at close-down or startup....... is this correct? Consequently they just accumulate!

Comments please.

My c:\windows\temp folder is empty and I run CCleaner several times a day so no they don't accumulate if they even get put there in the first place.

Hello Eric,

Make sure the switch to only clean Windows files older than 48 hrs is unticked.

Use the Users Guide often for awhile.

Good luck,

The problem is those files are typically locked by Windows during a Windows session. On reboot they should disappear only to perhaps create another one.
