Eric-F
CCleaner appears to place temporary files in c:\windows\temp, with file names such as Perflib_Perfdata_xxx.dat I have observed that these are not deleted at close-down or startup....... is this correct? Consequently they just accumulate! Comments please.

My c:\windows\temp folder is empty and I run CCleaner several times a day so no they don't accumulate if they even get put there in the first place. Use the Users Guide often for awhile. http://www.ccleanerbeginnersguide.com/ Good luck, davey
burtman
FYI - the PerfLib files are Windows performance files (and can - i'm sure - be safely removed) - see http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn....mspx?mfr=true#
Moderators Andavari Posted June 14, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2008 The problem is those files are typically locked by Windows during a Windows session. On reboot they should disappear only to perhaps create another one.
