PeteH Posted May 11, 2008 Share Posted May 11, 2008 1st time here so if I fail to provide all the necessary info please excuse Using Recuva 1.13.304 Windows XP SP3 - Intel Celeron 2.00Ghz CPU - 256Mb RAM Does a standard scan of C:|drive in seconds but finds no files, when I choose the deepscan option it gets to 2% then crashes Crash info window shows as below Error signature AppName: recuva.exe AppVer: 1.13.0.304 ModName: recuva.exe ModVer: 1.13.0.304 Offset: 000466d9 Windows says the following error report would be sent ? but when I go to the location ? it is not there! C:\DOCUME~1\Dad\LOCALS~1\Temp\cf75_appcompat.txt A .dmp file is saved to the folder but system doesn't know what program to use to open it That's all the info I have Thanks Pete Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

After scanning online and finding MANY recovery software packages, I noted the majority spoke of not installing the program to the same drive as the one you want to scan for deleted files. PeteH Posted May 23, 2008 Author Share Posted May 23, 2008 Well - this was a really worthwhile exercise joining the forum and asking for help ! 12 days and the only reply I've had is someone else adding their problem in my post I guess that means no-one actually knows the answer to the widespread deep scan crash problem then!
