Eli
The cleaner beginner`s guide shows as follows, quote: "Tip: I recommend having them all checked. Unless you are a business or use the documents a lot, I would uncheck the Office box under Applications."unquote 1.Can anybody add an explanation as to why to uncheck? 2.What does the cleaner delete in the office application? Thanking you in advance. Moderators Augeas Posted March 17, 2008 Moderators Share Posted March 17, 2008 Can't answer your questions, but I have always ticked this box, with no (noticable) bad effect. I don't notice any Office-related files coming up in the delete list, so maybe I have nothing there to clean. In other word ticking this box seems safe to me. Keithuk
I have all my applications checked. I haven't found any difference between office apps. The only thing I've noticed in WinZip is the extraction folder names are all blank, no problem. Do not edit it unless you really know what you are doing. 1.Can anybody add an explanation as to why to uncheck? The most common complaint is that clearing RegKey10=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data|Settings wipes a bunch of custom settings in Word. If you left everything at default, probably no problem. Also, some people don't like losing the Outlook dropdowns when the last 3 registry keys are wiped. Eli
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. I may have confused the situation by answering your questions in reverse order. What I meant is that from the whole list of files you mentioned, I understand that the ones I should be considered with , are reg keys : 10 ,19 , 20 ,21 and that the others in your list , shouldn't produce any problems if cleaned , so the decision to check or uncheck will be upon this four reg keys only, right ? I'd say so. Everything else is the sort of stuff that, if you use CCleaner on Office at all, you'd want to clean.
