software problem

i cant get the scanner to work. i downloaded and installed the driver for the printer without problems but the scanner wouldn't work. does anyone know how to fix this problem? thanks

You could also check in services that Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is at least set to manual and starts when required and or set it to Auto.

 

Provides image acquisition services for scanners and cameras.

 

Start - Run - services.msc

Really strange that you should post that info Humpty, as I had to turn off my WIA, as with it on (on my system) all I got in control panel was the windows torch searching aimlessly

 

Computers are so strange, and so is HP software, as apparently the two items on my computer were causing the problem.

 

Hopefully your suggestion will work for the dtmt2001
