DjLizard Posted June 15, 2005 Share Posted June 15, 2005 If the recovery partition is damaged, you have to backup your data, use the full system recovery CDs and do a full wipe/recovery. The recovery partition is written with proprietary software [such as SoftThinks' 'PC Angel' software] that makes it difficult to access. The recovery CDs or recovery program - like hitting F10 or F11 on bootup - can access it easily, but everything else can't. It sure can be destroyed easily (if someone's trying to, or if your hard drive fails or gets weak spots (aka 'bad sectors').
