Whenever i try to defrag using the analyze then select the files mode its starts up by saying "defrag starting" but as soon as that completes its says defrag complete even tho its has not done any thing :(

its works when i click on action and defrag drive but wont work the other way

its still is a great defrager

At leas your says complete, mine hasn't been defrag in 100 days or more. It just sits at 1%. So I went for a coffee, 10min went by, still sitting at 1%, go for a walk for an hour or 2 and still sitting at 1%. Go way for the weekend 72hrs went by. Guess what it say after I come back? If your answer is 2% or more your wrong it still at 1%. I love this program, I know its Windows xp or maybe I was running Windows vista at the time. Chkdsk or scandisk never help. Well it doesn't matter today I format and reinstall windows, just want to share my story.:unsure:

Hello rushhh,

Welcome to the forums !!! :D

Don't do anything drastic until you just run Windows Disk Defragmenter first.

You do have me confused when you mention XP and Vista in the same breath.

A format and re-install will only put you back at step 0.

P.S. What kind of free space do you have available ?

We can always find some more free-space.

What is going on with your PC anyway ?

Tell us about your PC and what is happening.
