FYI: Slim and portable versions will be out on Monday.

That's ok, I already extracted the executable. No need to install spyware from a company that supports a dictatorial regime in China.

Any reason though why the alternate builds were not included immediately?

Does it take more time to include Yahoo spyware then to make an installer with CCleaner only?

Regards (I love your app, btw)

To answer that for MrG - as a developer I know it is easier to remove things, than to add them. Sooo, build the full app, then slim it down - simple :-) And yes, this will take some time.

I think you meant Yahoo 'toolbar' - ahem ! :D

Still no luck with my index.dat file :(

Still not detected nor cleaned by CCleaner.

(it doesn't appears as "marked for deletion" after Analyze).

Location:

G:\Cache Internet\File temporanei Internet\Content.IE5

All other Temporary Files in this location are correctly detected and cleaned.

All but index.dat.

I can't realize why other softwares (tried SuperCleaner, IndexDat Suite, IndexDat QV)

can easily detect, read, and clean this... evil file with no problems

I know CCleaner use a "Special Key" (1=N_INT_INDEXDAT) for this feature,

so i can't do any kind of further... investigation.

I guess there is something wrong in my system that doesn't allow CCleaner to detect it,

but no idea where to find the wrong thing. If someone have an idea about which registry keys

i can verify for fix this issue would be very appreciate.

Thanks in advance :)

Win XP Sp2 fully patched

IE7.0.5730.11

(Note: i'm the only admin/user of my pc, no passwords at Windows startup,

no problems of admin's privileges/permissions, and so on... )

Slim - woot!!

Wait..I thought the whole idea of it being portable was that you could copy the folder onto a USB drive and it would work...that's what I did... and it works... now I'm lost.

Time to go download the update.

Mercy installed 2.01.507 running windows xp home edition service pack 2 and even with run (in start menu) unchecked under Windows Explorer everything still get erased in the run menu. Why can't this be corrected as it has been listed quite often in previous 2.0 + versions? Am going back to 1.38. until this bug is fixed.

@Whiteshark

its useless to complain about that index.dat because once it gets deleted upon restart windows automatically creates another one because it is needed by the system.

Thanks, i know perfecly how work the index.dat deletion :)

The fact is that CCleaner doesn't detect/delete mine at all, as said above

The new 2.0.1 update still has winapp.ini seperate from the EXE. Will the portable or slim version have Winapp.ini embedded into CCleaner so that I only have to put 1 file on a flash drive?

It really shouldn't... maybe you should try uninstalling CCleaner, deleting the folder, and reinstall it. Wouldn't hurt to try.

I uninstalled and installed again and just tried the portable version that was released today. They both still have winapp.ini as a seperate file. Is there any way that I can embed it into the CCleaner.exe myself?
