New Browser called K-meleon

I have started useing K-Meleon and I love it!

The problem I have though is that I cant seem to clean everything on this browser.

Someone tried to help me over at K-Meleon and here is what they said:

CCleaner can be set to clean/sanitize K-Meleon files via:

CCleaner > Options > Add File/Add Folder:

You can add files/folders for sanitizing with CCleaner from Your used Profile which You can find via:

K-Meleon > Edit > Configuration > Profile directory ( it is by default in % Apdata % next to Your Firefox/Mozilla Profile If You unselected Multiple user Profiles on install it is in K-Meleon directory/Profiles...)

Explanation of "private" K-Meleon files inside Your profle:

XX000915.s = Your passwords (random number, extension *.s ),

bookmarks.html = bookmarks (Your Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox type bookmarks),

bookmarks_backup.html = bookmarks backup file,

cookies.txt = cookies ( markers written by visited pages ),

feeds.xml = Your RSS feeds addresses,

history.dat = surfing history,

IconCache.dat = e. g. site icons (favicon) of the pages You visited,

opera.adr = Opera hotlist file (Opera type bookmarks file) .

CCleaneer cannot clean K-Meleon's MRU list! That is in Prefs.js only K-Meleon privacy plugin can handle that (or an editor when K-Meleon is shut down).

Explanation of folders:

Cache = hdd cache of temporary files ( that is next to Your profile and it can be visited by a nosy person via about:cache )

And If You want You could delete the whole "./profiles/..." folder - k-meleon will create a new one in a subdirectory of Profiles with the name "default" on its next start. You could built on this and e.g. use this default profile for private surfing and sure deleting by overwriting and another with a specific name for normal use.

As said before for normal purposes it is much easier to have K-Meleon privacy pluging to do routine cleanup. It does not overwrite the files however - so they could be recovered by a nosy person.

Is there a fix to having more privacy with this browser??

I cant say that I really understand what he posted but I would like to think that it could be said a little simpler.

here is the link to the K-Meleon forum where I posted:

So far it seems to be much better for me. It does not seem to be sluggish on my system at all.

I will keep trying it out for a while and see what happens.

:D

I tried that browser before and it wasn't bad. I don't like the GUI though. Looks like a 4 year old was drawing or something it's very ugly IMO.
