Moderators Andavari Posted September 2, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2007 Not even worth downloading since they're ad supported, someone is bound to try them then post a HijackThis log. Just my 2 cents.

oli
it says its supported by in game advertising, surely for a free game you could put up with seeing a few adverts starting the game. I am going to try farcry. edit - Don't try them if you don't live in the US Edit - Apparently if you make an ubisoft account and just select the United States as your home country it works, also don't download off fileplanet. I am downloading from gamershell. No wait and i am downloading nearly at max speed Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Thats just the way i am
Matt_
Not even worth downloading since they're ad supported, someone is bound to try them then post a HijackThis log. Just my 2 cents.I highly doubt the notion that Ubisoft would venture as to putting adware that is displayed beyond the actual games with the mass hysteria of the recent Sony DRM scandal. http://www.last.fm/user/Matt714
Moderators rridgely Posted September 2, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2007 Farcry is awesome and so is prince of persia. I played them both on xbox. (I dont think I would want to play prince of persia with a keyboard/mouse though..)
oli
I did download farcry, you get static ads on the menus and a 10 second advert each load it does. There are already patches about that remove the adds. Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Thats just the way i am

If you like adventure/platform games it doesn't get much better than prince of persia, one of my favorite games.
Moderators DennisD Posted September 3, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 3, 2007 Yep, downloaded Farcry, but registered first with Ubisoft as from USA. Pleased I did because to install the game you have to add your email and password before it installs proper. Worked a treat. Trouble is, playing this thing with a keyboard is a bitch. Too much trouble.
fireryone
They might have just fixed the country selection cheat Havent tried it but saw this notice on the fileplanet site: All downloaded files which have not been activated are going to be made inactive through the ubi.com login. Previously, the ubi.com login would require a US country in order to install the game. Ubisoft will make the ubi.com login reject all entries into country. They hope to relaunch the program once we can add IP-blocking into our login process. fireryone
