Moderators Andavari Posted July 27, 2007 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2007 Letting anyone whom uses Avira AntiVir, and SUPERAntiSpyware that currently AntiVir is producing a false positive against SUPERAntiSpyware. I reported yesterday via a support ticket, also someone else reported it on the SUPERAntiSpyware forums about the false positive. Therefore if anyone runs a virus scan with AntiVir you should tell it to ignore the "infection" found in the SUPERAntiSpyware folder until the virus detection database has fixed the issue - when is becoming a good question because there have been three virus detection database updates and the false positive still exists. Actually the false positive has gotten worse on my system alone as it was only detecting SASENUM.SYS now it's detecting three more files, in total these four: Found a virus or unwanted program 'SPR/SuperAntiSpyw.8' [riskware]in file 'C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SASENUM.SYS'.Found a virus or unwanted program 'SPR/SuperAntiSpyw.2' [riskware]in file 'C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\Plugins\sab_wab.dll'.Found a virus or unwanted program 'SPR/SuperAntiSpyw.3' [riskware]in file 'C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\Plugins\sab_mapi.dll'.Found a virus or unwanted program 'SPR/SuperAntiSpyw.4' [riskware]in file 'C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\Plugins\sab_incr.dll'. Moderators Andavari Posted July 27, 2007 Author Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2007 Hmm...I just scanned my SUPERAntiSpyware folder with AntiVir and it didn't flag anything. That's odd! I'm going to use an online malware scanner to check the files in question.
