widepart
I'm new so please forgive the newbe type questions. I always thought that it was imposable to "delete" index.dat files. Does CCleaner actually do that or does it just overwrite the contents? Regardless of what is done is the index.dat file info recoverable? Thanks WIDEPART
DjLizard
Files that are in use (as index.dat usually is) are marked for deletion; the next time your computer starts, the marked files will be deleted, before Windows can lock them again. Yes, all files are recoverable, using third-party data recovery/forensic tools.
