Moderators Andavari Posted April 27, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 27, 2007 CCleaner is coded to ignore the $hf_mig$ folder. A forum search will reveal the reason why it isn't cleaned anymore. Edit: Then again a forum search won't work, it doesn't find those old threads. Edit 2: Just learned something the dollar signs goof up the search function, try this search of hf_mig and you'll understand after reading a few threads why that folder should be left alone. gjmveloso
Another improvement suggestion: CCleaner will be able to restart Windows Update. Recreating a new \WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution" folder and WindowsUpdate text file (logfile). This procedure can correct svchost.exe escalation bug when svchost request 100% of CPU usage.
