I tried that too, but to no avail. I eventually clicked the 'cancel' button and the cleaning proceeded, but it kept popping up all the time, so I kept cancelling.

CCleaner wants to make changes but it does not recognise my password and I cannot change it. It is not changeable on my profile.

I have chosen the cookies to keep and left the cookies to exclude, but there is no button to press to get rid of those I do not want. The two lists just remain visible.
