Thanks! Turned off and the issue has gone.

I cannot find any check box to deactivate system monitoring. If you mean > settings > privacy, these check box is turned off.

the clicking of "X" in the right hand corner will close the program, but in the background CCleaner ist still working and has to be finally finished via the sys tray.

I have just tested version 5.42.6499 with WIN 7*64, Google Chrome settings remain unchanged after using CCleaner. Problems with Google Chrome profiles seem to be resolved. Many thanks.

I have the same problem with Windows 7*64 & Windows 8.1*64
