Must have been a server issue. It downloaded a few minutes ago and installed successfully. I must learn patience ... ;>)

Running v5.26.5937 > 'Check for updates' > new version = v5.27.5976 but when I say YES to 'Do you want to update' the download of v5.27.5976 starts but never completes and CCleaner stays at v5.26.5937. What am I missing here?
