What is AV software? Yes they both have the same versions of CC and Win 8.1 It worked when in safe mode, plus once when out of safe mode. When I tried it a second time when out of safe mode, it only opened as administrator.

Well, I spoke too soon, as it only worked right the first use, then right back to having to select run as administrator. Need a better solution. Ps. I have two computers with windows 8.1, and only one has this problem

Hi mta I tried the full removal, and re-install, but it didn't work. So I tried the safe mode install, and that worked. Thank you

Hi mta It was a fresh install. Os version is windows 8.1 Ps. I have another computer with windows 8.1, and CCleaner opens when I click the taskbar icon.

After installing CCleaner version 5.38.6375, when I click the icon shortcut on the taskbar, it will not open. I have to right click and choose to run as Administrator
