  1. To use the online licence lookup you have to give the same email address that you used when purchasing CCleaner.
If you no longer have access to that email address then you will need to contact support and ask them to look your licence up for you.

You can use any email adress to sent them an email to support@ccleaner.com

If you can tell them what email that it was that you used when purchasing CCleaner then they can look it up easily for you.
If you can't even remember what your old email was then they will need more details in order to find your original purchase.

  2. OK then, let's do the update a different way.

Go to this page and download the installer from there: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/builds

Your browser should ask you if you want to save it, click 'Save File' and that should put 'spsetup132.exe'  into your 'Downloads' folder.
(You can see from the screenshot below that I've just done it here about 8 minutes ago, I was checking if it was downloading as it should).

Double-click on that downloaded setup file to install the new version, there's no need to uninstall the old one first it will just replace it.
(I also reinstalled it here to check that too).

You can delete the setup file from the Downloads folder, if you want to, once the new version of Speccy has been installed.

  3. I updated mine some time ago without any problem.

What is happening when you click the 'Yes' button to install?

If it's downloading 'spsetup132.exe' sucessfully then double click that downloaded file to do the actual install.

PS. This update did not change anything functional in Speccy, it was all about licence keys.

    Release notes

    Speccy v1.32.803 (14 Jun 2022)

We're pleased to announce that the latest version of Speccy has had a small update. This change introduces some improvements to Speccy’s integration with our licensing platforms. This groundwork will allow us to work on changes that will provide a smoother license delivery experience in future.

If I then want to visit various websites, I have to log in again

Yes, that is what I said above.

When CCleaner is running at startup it is clearing those logins.

Untick 'Session' for the browsers that you use and then you can still have CCleaner run at startup, but it will no longer clear the logins.

  5. When you say that you "lose some passwords" do you actually mean that you are logged out of some websites in your browser and have to log into them again?

I assume that you are using Custom Clean, or have Smart Cleaning enabled.

If you want to stop it logging you out of websites then untick 'Session' for the browser(s) that you use, eg.

  6. That does not sound right at all.

"Spoke" to customer support; didn't "Call" you back; "can't find the number".

There is no official CCleaner telephone support - (unless you have a specialised technical business licence).

So who have you been talking to?

Where did you buy the CCleaner licence key from?

I'm concerned that you may have fallen for a scam.

  7. One of the staff said the other day that there are a lot of support tickets at the moment so it's taking longer than usual to answer them.

Licence issues are not something we can deal with on the open forum for obvious security reasons.

So what you are saying is that if I enter the new Key, for 2 years the CCleaner server will automatically add the remainder of the current term

    No.

Because you have upgraded you will have a new, different, key so it won't happen automatically.

That automatic thing only happens if it's the same key.

Instead you need to email support at the  address given above and ask for a 'Licence Merge' which they will do manually. (They do thousands of them each year so it's basic stuff for them).

Once you have it manually merged then you can use that key on the number of machines specified. So you will be able to use it on the machine with the 27 Sept expired licence.

Alternatively you could just start using the new 'bundle' key now on as many machines it's valid for and forget about the time remaining on the old one - your choice.

PS. Sorry about the time lag, UK vs AUS.

  9. I play about with computers a bit so have got used to ignoring Windows 'Nanny' messages when needs must.

Like when the famous "Updating do not switch off your computer" gets stuck onscreen for a couple of hours. Nothing else to do other than switch it off. Which has never caused a problem (yet) at the worst it's just restarted and done the whole update again.

OK, there is a very slight possibility that you may end up having to reinstall Windows from scratch. But as long as you do regular backups of your files (or full Mirror backups) then even that's not too drastic.

Would be great if the new license would add itself to the existing license remainder

    It does,

it either happens automatically or you can request it manually - which happens depends on if you renew the existing licence key or if you buy a new licence key.

In your particular case you seem to have purchased a new licence key, but you still don't have to wait to use it and can get the time remaining on the old one added to it.

If you email support@ccleaner.com with details of your old and new licences and ask for a 'Licence Merge' they will merge them together under the new key and you can then start using the new one which will then be valid for 2 years from the 20th/21st October (when the old one would have run out).
Plus of course the old one will stop nagging you to renew it.

Note that this merging still applies if you are upgrading from CCleaner Pro to Pro plus, or CCleaner Premium, the remaining time is upgraded too.
    See: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/61763-possibility-to-log-in-to-an-private-account-with-actual-status-of-licences/#comment-333412

If you renew an existing licence key using the same email address as before, and with less than 90 days remaining, then the old and new licences gett merged automatically so that the remaining time gets added to the renewed key.
That automatic merging happens twice a day, so it may be a few hours after renewing before you see the merge reflected in CCleaner itself.

Whichever way you do it the merging means you can take advantage of offer prices, and upgrades, without losing any of the remaining time on your existing licence.

  11. Yes, I'd just shutdown. Although it's been 16 hours since you asked so you've probably done that anyway by now.

I'm not sure why it is saying the installer is still running?
Have you been using the Software Updater perhaps? (It's built into Health Check on Pro versions).
    Or maybe the Driver Updater?
Maybe something in one of those got stuck?

But it shouldn't harm anything to terminate it.
At the worst you might have to reinstall CCleaner and/or Kamo again from scratch.

  12. It is a known problem and they are looking into it.

In the meantime email support@ccleaner.com and ask them to lookup your licence for you.

PS. You should not put your email address where everyone can see it, I have removed it for you.

Google translate (so apologies for errors).

في غضون ذلك ، أرسل بريدًا إلكترونيًا إلى support@ccleaner.com واطلب منهم البحث عن ترخيصك.

  13. @annoyed_user
That sounds like a PayPal recurring payment has been set up, and PayPal are still taking the money.

We do see it occasionally with PayPal.
eg. You cancel your CCleaner subscription, but have forgotten (or hadn't realised) that you had also set up a recurring payment with PayPal, and until you cancel that PayPal will still take the payment.
    https://www.paypal.com/hk/webapps/mpp/automatic-payments

If that is what is happening for you then you have to cancel the recurring payment with PayPal and ask them for a refund.

  14. I done some testing now.

It's working fine for me here, the notifications are obeying the settings like they should.

When they are turned off then at the scheduled time a flashing CCleaner icon appears breifly in the system tray (as it should do) but that's all.

So let's see if we can work out why it's acting differently for you and put it right.

Did you have that schedule set in the previous CCleaner versions?
I'm thinking that if that was the case then something may have got a bit scrambled when the scheduler was updated as part of the 6.03 update?

I'd try reinstalling CCleaner 6.03 over the top of your existing one.
You can get the installer here: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds
Once downloaded just double click it to reinstall CCleaner.

If it's still not behaving after doing that then you could try uninstalling CCleaner and reinstalling from scratch.
(You might want to also do a Restart of your machine before reinstalling).
Make a note of your licence name and key before uninstalling, you'll need it to re-regiser the new install.

Why it would enable system restore in the first place is a mystery

It's a bug, it shouldn't be doing it for everybody everytime.

(PS. The bit about SSDs was just general information, not aimed at anyone specifically).

good to see the usual apology from the developers as in none whatsoever.

You presumably noticed the apology from CCleaners senior product manager on the other thread? You did make the next post after it.
(Not a very big apology I agree).

  16. Has your CCleaner recently (just) updated?

It can sometimes take AV's a while to recognise the new version as being legit.

So even though you have CCleaner whitelisted your AV may think that the new version is something else that is pretending to be CCleaner.

  17. Just to make it clear - CCleaner 6.03 isn't creating restore points itself when you run it; but it is turning them on in Windows so that Windows can then make them if/when it wants to.

PS. The old advice not to enable System Restore with SSD's is just that; old advice.
With modern SSD's using System Restore is not really going to 'degrade' them like it could with early SSD's, yes there will be some extra writes but not enough to make a noticable difference to a modern SSD.
(Just how useful restore points actually are, and how often they fail to work anyway,  is a different debate).

  18. Searching the Web can be an artform, the Web has got full of junk these days and you have to know how to navigate through the dross.

Often enclosing your search term in double quotes like above gets a more focused set of finds. (But sometimes it's too focused and you get nothing).

Usually in a browser the double quote marks means - results must include what is in the quotes - you can use more than one set of double quote marks around different words in a search.

Hope the Net Framework thing sorts it out for you.
