  1. Are you using Health Check on CCleaner Professional? Is it saying that there are version updates for those 2 softwares? That is does the 'Security' box say that there are apps to update? CCleaner v6.09 added another 50 software titles that it can now check and update. If it is that, and it is trying to update both those softwares everytime you run Health Check, then click on that 'Security' box and tell us what versions it is saying you have and what is says the Latest version is. The Software Updater can occasionally get in a twist about version numbers that are slightly different to what it is expecting to see.
  2. Although I can't be sure I would suspect it's something in those extended entries that you have. Is that Winapp2.ini? or is it some other 3rd party extension?
  3. CCleaner Professional does not recover files. Do you mean that you have bought the Pro-Plus bundle - which includes CCleaner, Recuva, and Speccy? Although the Pro+ licence key is valid for all the listed products you can choose which ones you want to use and download them seperately, then enter the key in each. https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/204043924-What-is-CCleaner-Professional-Plus-#what-is-ccleaner-professional-plus--0-0 I assume you have already downloaded/installed CCleaner itself. You can download the installers for Recuva and Speccy here: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/builds https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/builds They will install as the Free versions and then you can enter your Pro+ key to register them.
  4. As from your IP you appear to be in Kiev then I would suspect that the current conflict, and resulting sanctions on Russia, may have something to do with any issues that you are seeing. Try disconecting from the internet before opening CCleaner. Other than that I suggest that you send an email to the Support team letting them know you are being blocked from running CCleaner: support@ccleaner.com
  5. I've flagged this up to the staff. I'd guess it might be the name - sounds more like a "know yourself" motivation site than septic tanks. And septic is only a 'c' short of being dubious.
  6. Sorry my first reply was a bit terse, I was posting from my phone and couldn't go into more detail. I'll agree that most of the regulars here, including myself, and not that familiar with Mac or iMac. (Please excuse our ignorance). I had noticed that it was a Mac, because that screenshot appears to be from an app named "IMAC-2023 System Monitor". The second screenshot makes things a bit clearer, and may explain what you are seeing. It looks that when you press the CCleaner icon it is being redirected to that System Monitor app, from where you can then open CCleaner from that big blue button. AFAIK even on Mac CCleaner has no tools to report temperatures or fan speeds, it's that System Monitor that is reporting those. The puzzling thing is that I cannot find any other mention of such a redirect happening. Nor can I find any monitoring app for Mac that looks like your screenshot. And the only thing I can find by searching the app name displayed is this thread itself. This is what would be expected on a Mac: https://www.macupdate.com/reviews/ccleaner What type of device is this? Desktop, laptop, tablet, phone? Your screenshots look phone-like - but those Segate drives say desktop or possibly laptop. PS. This thread will be moved to the CCleaner for Mac forum
  7. However it is expected that you know that if you use a cleaning app it is going to remove temporary files,. After all that is the whole point of running a cleaning app. The Recycle Bin is simply temporary files, ie. soft-deleted (no longer wanted) files waiting to be fully deleted. Windows itself can/will purge items from the Bin after they have been there for 30 days - without warning. The Recycle Bin is not a safe place to 'store' things that you might want later. So if you do want the files, or might want them in future, then don't delete them to the Bin. (Or back them up somewhere before deleting them to the bin). CCleaner does give warnings about deletions - unless you have turned the warnings off, or told it not to show them again. And most people do turn the warnings off, and/or often forget that they've previously ticked "Do not show me this message again" when one popped up. It would be tedious if each time you run a clean you get a warning for each individual file, of category/section of files, that will be deleted. Which is why most people turn the warnings off and tick "Do not show me this message again".
  8. This thread is from almost 16 years ago. Please check the date of the last post before replying to a thread.
  9. Why would you even do that? The recycle bin is for things you have deleted, if you deliberately want to keep something then you don't delete it. If you are not sure if you want to keep it or not then you put it somewhere else until you are sure, you don't delete it to the bin.
  10. You have a couple of options: If you want to reset all of your settings everywhere in CCleaner then go to Options>Advanced and at the bottom of the list you'll see 'Restore Default Settings'. If you just want to reset the ticks/unticks in Custom Clean then right-click on the Windows or Applications tabs in Custom Clean. That gives you the option to 'Restore Default State' for the ticks: See also: https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045474751-How-do-I-restore-CCleaner-s-default-settings-
  11. Whilst your original post does raise a valid point; your later responses are unwarranted. We are aware that our Australian members can have a relaxed attitude to language use, and we are generally tolerant of that. But just because you yourself regard something as 'light hearted' does not mean that it will not offend others, especially those in other countries or cultures. A re-reading of the Bene Dictum Benedictum! may be useful here, followed by a reading of section 4 of the CCleaner forum Guidelines which can be found on the menu bar. Both say the same basic thing - you are welcome, but be careful not to offend others or you may no longer be welcome. Back to your original post: The installers available on the official download pages are always the latest version, so there is no need to guard against downloading an older version by mistake. At worst you might just reinstall the current version over the current version. (Unless you are downloading from a non-official site, and what any such site shows on their pages is not in Piriforms' control) In addition the name of each of the main Piriform product installers clearly shows the version number it will install before you download it or use it to install the product. So even a previously downloaded installer will show you which version it will install. The current versions are: ccsetup609.exe, dfsetup222.exe, rcsetup153.exe, spsetup132.exe - and you can see that both before and after you download/save one of them. Edge download: My Firefox asks me before downloading: Admittedly at this time that is not the case for the CCleaner Browser, or Kamo installers which don't show the version numbers in the installer name but will always give you the latest version. Kamo does show the major version number on the webpage, currently Kamo 4
  12. Just for information in case it helps anyone. I don't have a Mac but I've had a play and downloaded the Recuva installer from the builds page onto my Android phone. I then transferred it from the phone to this laptop. I double clicked the transferred installer and Recuva installed sucessfully on the laptop. So that shows that it can be downloaded to a different OS, and then moved to a Windows machine to install there.
  13. If you only have a Mac available then yes. I'm not entirely sure but it may be that the usual download page doesn't play well with Mac because Recuva is only available for Windows. Downloading it directly from the builds page should bypass any such issue. Just to add that download will install on a Windows machine that is not connected to the web, I've just done it to check.
  14. Try downloading the installer from here: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/builds
  15. I'd just switch your Home Screen to Custom Clean and simply use the default settings already ticked there. Those defaults are about the sam that Health Check cleans. That way you will not be bothered by any automatic Software updates, and you can always tick some more things in Custom Clean if you want to later. PS. Smart Cleaning uses the Custom Clean rules and settings.
  16. There is - it's Custom Clean. There is no need to go offline because Custom Clean doesn't automatically update anything. There are seperate tools under 'Tools' for doing that if you want to. If you could customise the Health Check settings then it would just be another Custom Clean. Health Check was originally introduced as an option for those non-techie people who just want a quick clean of the 'regular' stuff without bothering about changing settings. It was originally called 'Quick Clean' / 'Easy Clean. When they added the automatic Startup app cleaning (Speed) and automatic Software Updating (Security) for pro it was renamed Health Check. Those 2 features were already there in Tools and they still are, they only run if you choose to run them. In my personal opinion they only added those two functions in Health Check so that they had 'something extra' to temp those non-techie people to buy Pro. (Even though they probably don't want those 2 features anyway).
  17. From what you say then you are using Health Check, and it's CCleaner Professional. For Driver Updates simply ignore it, CCleaner won't update any drivers unless you click on Driver Updates and go through the steps. Software updates can be different though: Health Check in CCleaner Pro includes an automatic check for software updates. (Custom Clean doesn't. There's a seperate 'Software Updater' tool). I guess that you're asking this because v6.09 has just added 50 more apps that it can update, so some people will now be seeing software updates in Health Check when they didn't before. https://www.ccleaner.com/knowledge/ccleaner-v6-09-10300 You have 3 options if you don't want CCleaner Health Check to automatically check for and install software updates. 1- Use Custom Clean. Go to Options>Settings and change the CCleaner Home Screen to Custom Clean. It will then show you Custom Clean when you open CCleaner. You get more control of what gets cleaned or not by ticking/unticking the categories, be careful you do really want to tick extra things to clean because Custom Clean can clean things that Health Check wouldn't touch. 2- Tell Health Check to ignore what it has found to update. If you do want to use Health Check then: When it says it has found apps to update in the 'Security' box click on that box. Untick any apps that you don't want updating, click 'Save and Back to Overview', and continue with 'Make it Better'. YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THAT EVERYTIME THAT YOU RUN HEALTH CHECK. It doesn't remember that you told it to ignore them so will try to update them next time. 3- Go offline before running Health Check. If you're offline then it can't check for any software updates, and can't fetch them to install.
  18. Had you actually run CCleaner v6.09? You don't say there whether you did or not. In particular did you run the Registry Cleaner? If you did run the Reg Cleaner then what version was/is your Office? TBH as yesterday was the Microsoft Patch Tuesday updates then I'd be more inclined to suspect that it's something the Microsoft Update has done. The Microsoft Updates will have installed when you rebooted after your shutdown. On a longer shot - What Antivirus are you using? There was a known issue with Avira and Bullguard AV's moving executables into a Windows temporary folder. If you then ran any cleaner it would clear that temporary folder and the executables would stop working and have to be reinstalled. None of the cleaning apps could fix that, only Avira/Bullguard could have fixed it.Aalthough we did find a way to stop it happening with CCleaner by 'excluding' that particular temporary folder. It affected more than just Office though, and I haven't seen any reports of it happening for a while, but you never know. If you could give us a few more details then things might become clearer as to what may have happened. eg. what Windows version, what Office version, what AV if you have one installed, did you run the Registry Cleaner?
  19. Are you sure that it's only because you are clearing something? An increasing number of sites that deal with finances will require the security of sending a one-time code by SMS everytime you login. (You should be able to set an alternative security method on the website for if you don't have, or can't use, a mobile phone). Most such sites will also log you out automatically after a period of inactivity, again for your security. That's so if someone picks up/steals your device they are not logged into your accounts. (Say I log into my bank account and don't change the page for 5 minutes, it will log me out and I'll then need a new one-time code by SMS to log back in again). Some will allow you to 'trust' a particular device for say all day or the next 7 days, so that you can then login again without a texted code - but they'll want you to get and enter a new code after that day or 7 days. (My bank, utility accounts, etc. all give me that 7-day option. I never use it because it's less secure).
  20. For licencing issues you should contact support, it's not something that we can deal with on the public forum. Email: support@ccleaner.com
  21. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's going to be another "SpeechRuntime.exe". They just point up that Windows now changes the registry a lot - and that registry cleaning is not something to be done as a routine but only when trying to fix something already broken.
  22. Great. Bear in mind that it's not just the browsing history. It's cookies, Cache, Session, Temporary files, etc. as well. Whatever browser data CCleaner removes - if you have sync for that data turned on it then it will just be synced back from the cloud again. CCleaner can clear things from your machine but it can't clear the cloud.
  23. Is your Edge synced? Syncing will put back from the cloud whatever browser data CCleaner removes from your machine - that's what sync does.
  24. Windows is constantly changing the registry these days - which is why it's unwise to use a Registry Cleaner unless you are trying to fix a specific problem. As you are seeing the same thing on two machines then that suggests that it's something new that Windows is putting there and CCleaner doesn't know what it is so flags it up. There are a number of reg entries that CCleaner will flag/remove and Windows will put straight back. The fact that if you delete it then it comes back only reinforces that it's something Windows wants to be there. As you say "the last couple of weeks" then I suspect it's something new added by the January Windows updates.
