If it's a 14 day trial where you didnt give card details yet then you wont have a subscription account or licence key yet and so there is nothing yet to be cancelled. If it's a 30 day trial where you gave payment card details then you will have an account but nothing is taken until the trial ends. We did have a recent post where someone had mistyped their own email for a 30 day trial. So the question is did you give any payment card details yet? If you haven't then no money can be taken.

Being honest I'd just ignore it. (I always do when something shows one of my drives as the wrong type). As long as you know yourself which drive is what type then that's really all that matters. PS. If you were to use a wipe on those drives then before doing the wipe CCleaner would warn you that it's a SSD but would let you do it anyway if you still wanted to, so you could still wipe an incorrectly labled HDD. This is a free space wipe from Tools > Drive Wiper not 'Wipe Free Space' in the Custom Clean settings, but it's the same warning

That looks a bit of an unusual setup, with Downloads and the Page File having their own drive letters. That can happen with the Pagefile if the OS Drive is not large enough to hold it, I'm not sure about the Downloads unless you have deliberately named a drive/partition as that. It looks to me that you may have a smaller drive (drive 1) with the Win11 OS on it, and a larger drive (drive 2) partitioned into multiple drive letters. (That's a fairly common setup with the smaller OS drive being an SSD, often a M2/NVME SSD). Drives being recognised as the wrong type can be common these days, Windows itself does it and that is probably where CCleaner is picking the drive type up from. Some of the newer HDDs in particular can look like SSDs to Windows. and particularly if they have onboard caching chips. What type of drives does Windows Optimise say that they are? What do other apps (such as Speccy) say that they are?

@Stoyan, that is not very helpful at all. People want to use browser extensions. People want to use Chrome and Edge. & 4. Doing that will not prevent the files from being recreated next time you use the browser.

How long are you giving it? Apparently that Office update is quite a big one and does take time. However - there is a know 'resolving' bug affecting some users but not all. A fix is being worked on and it should hopefully be fixed later this week. In the meantime you can try one or both of the following: Instead of Health Check you could use Tools>Software Updater and see if that will do it for you. Or open Office 2016 itself and update it there. (File > Account > Product Information > Update Options > Update Now). Once it's been updated then Health Check will stop trying to update it.

I can't say for sure but think the fix when it comes will be at the software updater server end so should just 'happen' without anyone needing to do anything. Hardly anyone uses Internet Explorer as a browser any more - but..... Over the years many softwares/apps have used IE's temporary spaces as a convinent place to put their own temporary files rather than making their own temporary spaces for them. (Why make a new rubbish bin when there is already one there to use?) That still happens and so CCleaner still finds things there to clean. (TBH last time I checked when you open CCleaner it still puts a couple of files in there itself, and then finds them to be cleaned).

Uninstalling/reinstalling CCleaner won't help I'm afraid. The 'trying to do something on the hard disk' message will just be a symptom of the issue. I've not seen this one myself but in previous similar ones I have seen the software being updated wants something clicked or typed that CCleaner can't click/type or doesn't know to click. Something such as an extra UAC confirmation. Which particular software update is it hanging on for you? (I assume that you have tried them one at once).

There is a known issue for some users with changes made to the Software Updating part of Health Check. A fix has been promised hopefully sometime this week. In the meantime there are a couple of things you could try: 1- Using the seperate Tools>Software Updater in CCleaner to see if that one will update the problematic apps for you. 2- Looking at what software Health Check has found to update and then update them manually yourself. If/when they have been updated then Health Check will no longer hang trying to update them.

These days for online PDFs I just view them in the browser (Firefox) and then save them if I want to keep them. Most browsers can open PDF's now, You can also set the browser to be the default app for opening your saved PDFs, which they can do offline too. If you do that then no neeed for a seperate PDF viewer and so one less app to have installed. For saved PDFs I tend to just use Adobe Reader DC. Yes it can be a bit OTT just for viewing the odd PDF, but it does the job and I've never got round to evaluating the alternatives. Perhaps if I viewed PDF's more often I'd spend the time to look at few different reader apps.

My first suspect would be the Sophos. When there is a new CCleaner Update if 'Check for Updates' in CCleaner isn't seeing it then I would try disabling Sophos temporarilily and then do the CCleaner Update check. In the meantime I would check that your Sophos Home is up to date. Note that some AV's will say that they are up to date when there is in fact a newer version. Those AV's are telling you that their definitions are up to date for that version, not that the version is up to date. So with an AV as well as checking within the AV itself, it's best to check on the Av's website. I do note that Sophos Home for Windows doesn't seem to have had a version update since July 2023: https://support.home.sophos.com/hc/en-us/sections/360000192343-Release-Notes Windows 11 has had a feature update to version 23H2 since then, and I'm wondering if it was after updating to 23H2 that the issue started for you? Another option you could try would be to do a total reinstall of CCleaner. Make a note of your settings in CCleaner (and licence key if you have Pro), uninstall your current CCleaner and then delete the CCleaner folder C:\Program Files\CCleaner, 'Restart' your computer, and then download/reinstall CCleaner Free from the Builds page: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds Once reinstalled you will have to put your settings back, and enter your key to re-register it as Pro again. Of course you are not going to know if it fixed your issue until the next CCleaner update is released, but if you do that then at least you will know that you have a totally fresh CCleaner.

IIRC- Wasn't there a link in the original email that you had to click if you wanted to take advantage of the Breachguard offer at the time? So you'd only get any follow up if you had clicked that link. As those offer emails were originally sent out in October/November 2023 then the offer may no longer be valid? (Or have they sent out a new batch of emails without telling us?) @KAB when did you get the email?

As I say I have notified a member of staff and asked them to look into this for you. However today is Easter Sunday and the regular staff wiil not be back into work until Tuesday at least.

Sorry I am not familiar with the Android version of CCleaner so don't know what might have happened. One other thought - Android phones have a Recycle Bin these days, have you checked in there? (Of course though if CCleaner also emptied the bin ,,,,,).

Good to hear it's now back to normal for you. The Slim installer installs exactly the same CCleaner, it's just the installer itself that works a bit differently. However in this case I think that the problem was something hanging about in the CCleaner folder - so getting rid of the entire folder got rid of whatever that was.

I'm seeing the same not found error here. I'll flag this thread up to a staff member to check the link or give another idea. Of course it is Easter so it maybe offline for housekeeping, and being a holiday it may take time (Tuesday?) for the staff to see my flag.

Yes there is an issue that is affecting some users, not all, in the new Software Updater in Health Check. It doesn't matter if it's Pro or Pro Plus, the issue is with what software it finds to update. It appears to be hanging mainly when trying to update either MS Ofice, or the C++ redistributables, (there may be others that are also 'sticking'). We are told that they are working on a hotfix and that it should be implemented "hopefully next week". In the meantime if your health Check is hanging then you can try going to Tools>Software Updater and updating the softwares that it finds one by one. Other users have reported that if/when they have managed to sucessfully update the softwares using Tools>Software Updater then Health Check no longer hangs for them. (Because it's no longer getting stuck trying to update them, they have already been updated).

50 devices is obviously more than personal use. Whether you are thinking of becoming a reseller, or these phones are for use by staff in an organsation, then you are best talking to CCleaners Business division. (I'm just guessing here, talk to CCleaner Business about what is and isn't possible. But rather than purchasing through the Google Store you may be better getting a number of CCleaner multi-device licences direct from CCleaner and then 'activating' each licence in each Google account on each device). Sometimes "updater" apps such as the ones in CCleaner will know of updates before they are widely released or even before the developer has posted that it has been released. It's then up to you if you trust the updater or would prefer to wait a while. Personally I don't use any "updater" (not even the ones in CCleaner) if the update is needed then most times the app that needs it will do it, if the update isn't needed then why do it? In particular with drivers the update may be to suit hardware that you don't even have in your computer, so at best it is no use to you, and at worst it may stop what you do have from working properly. In the end it's your choice, by my take is - if it works as it is then don't try to fix what is already working.

Just to note that seems to be a new purchase made 2 weeks ago Was this an upgrade from CCleaner Pro to CCleaner Pro Plus? Were you also sent a new licence key to use? (Which look different to older keys, new style keys have a different number of characters. Old style keys are only valid for one device). PS. Check your email spam folder in case a new key was sent but ended up in there. PPS. Don't post any key in plain sight here on the forum. If you have been sent a new key then the old key will have been deactivated, and any time that was left on it will be added to the new key.

I doubt that it's a registry key, programmes don't normally create/change reg keys on opening and then delete them on closing. If/when they do create/change one they usually leave it there. Is it only with CCleaner? Try doing a scan with Defender to see if Diskled shows C: being accessed while the scan is running.
