Any way of turning them off? I know they're just trying to make a buck but I've emailed CCleaner support about renewing my license and they don't even bother to respond. Would like to just turn off the notifications for now. Suggestions? Thanks!

Ugh, that's disappointing. I was planning on trying that later. Would be nice to see devs address this. Guess no one cares about the "older" versions of Windows Server. :-(

I see there are a couple of other threads already on this topic. Adding my voice to the masses - 5.42 released today crashes on all my Server 2008 R2 systems. Any fix for this yet?

The other option I considered was re-running the installer .exe as part of a batch script, but this makes you go through all the "no, I don't want to install Google Chrome; no, I don't want an icon on the desktop" rigmarole, etc. Not ideal. :'(

I've noticed that even with the registered Pro version, CCleaner does not automatically update to the latest version unless you open it, wait a minute, close it, then re-open it, at which point it updates. This is with all of the "auto update" options turned on, "silent background checks", etc. I'm trying to force a way for it to automatically update on our PC's around the office, such as with a .bat file that I can run on all of them that flag the /update check, however I'm not having any luck. Even running CCleaner64.exe /update from the command line doesn't update it. I have to physically open the program, close it, and re-open it for it to update. I can't rely on my users to do this and would like to do it for them. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I just wanted to reply after finding this thread on google, that I am also experiencing this crash. Latest version of Firefox (52, 64-bit) and CCleaner (5.28). Issue only seems to affect one of our PC's, several others work fine. The problem didn't start until we updated Firefox yesterday. Error goes away when un-checking the "Compact databases" option. Hi! Just came to this forum to post about a new error I'm getting on all my PC's since updating to the newer versions of CCleaner. I get a message that says "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" when I try to enable the "Skip UAC control warning" setting. I didn't get this error in older versions. So far the only solution I seem to have found is to reinstall an older version, enable the checkbox, then update to the latest version. (I'm using 4.19 and 5.04, for reference) Any ideas? Problem seems to be consistent across all my PC's. Thanks! PS - sorry if I already posted this somewhere else, I'm new to the forum and couldn't find my original post. Thanks!

+1 to the "new UI is ugly" category. The flat interface is sort of growing on me, but only because it's being forced on us by designers. It's pretty darned ugly though, IMHO. Thanks!
