  1. Glenn is correct. I use to have an old 233Mhz laptop with a dead battery. I just took it out and ran it from the AC. It could be the power supply, because it sounds like it's losing power and can't charge the battery.
  2. At least almost all the spam has stopped. I do agree with the first post being about software is usually spam. We have alot of members, but the regulars post everyday. Usually the newcomers will only post once or twice.

    Thanks

Well, thank you for using CCleaner. Be sure to read my sig for all your CCleaner needs. BTW!

  5. Well, we do live in a flawed world. You can only fix one flaw at a time. Would be nice to find every flaw at once, but that's not life now is it?
  6. I have AntiVir PE all updated and it's not saying anything.
  7. Why would you uninstall it?
  8. I do prefer PNG. Like Andavari said, it's high quality. Also in most cases the file is smaller.
  9. Yes, Dell's tech support is the worst. Just believe me on that. The Vista laptop is twice as better than the XP, you don't want Intel graphics. Stick with ATI.
  10. It wasn't CCleaner, it doesn't scan your hard drive for file types. But, some cleaning programs do.
  11. Dell, isn't too bad. The tech support is horrible though. I bought a Compaq laptop and I couldn't be happy. Are the specs?
  12. It's a false positive.
  13. Firefox will hang sometimes, if firefox.exe is not in the task manager. It would probably be best to reboot. It's not CCleaner, it's Firefox.
  14. I have tried many cleaning programs (I had Windows Washer before I found CCleaner). I found CCleaner to have the easiest and neatest GUI, plus other options (easy access to them). Plus, it's very easy to add more cleaning items yourself. I have been with CCleaner for over a year, I joined the team knowing CCleaner would be something big. I wasn't wrong, it's getting bigger and bigger with every new release. You will find in many cases freeware or open source can be better than shareware. But when it comes to productivity programs, you have to buy. Like Adobe Photoshop CS2/CS3, Flash MX, Maya 3D, and so on.... Kaspersky is a very good anti-virus, but personal Anti-Vir is the best AV I have ever had. I have Anti-Vir PE Premium and ClamWin.
  15. The CCleaner installer has a digital signature encoded in it, so you will know when it is a fake.
  16. It will auto resize, but everyone will be able to see it.
  17. Figuring out how to make entries really isn't that hard. If I can do it, anyone can. I only know a very bit of programming (just enough for NSIS), making entries is really easy. It's just copying and pasting the directory or registry string location. You can do it all just by right clicking, the only thing that people might not get is the parameters, but I have them all listed in the Beginner's Guide in plain English. Some programs you just can't add (like Photoshop CS3), programs nowadays can getting more compact with their files and only using the registry when they have too. You will notice all the big software companies will store all their history, settings, options, and so on in one file. But, all the smaller independent software companies/people will store them in the registry (sometimes in an ini file). It's just easier to program that way. As far as torrent clients I agree with Andavari on this, I did have a torrent client in winapp2.ini, but removed it. It would clean the .torrent file, but it would clear all your part downloads or current downloads. So, I doubt I will be adding anymore torrent clients to winapp2.ini.
  18. I don't advise getting one anyways, there are some bad problems with them. I have a friend that works for Apple and he says they suck.

  20. There are things about this world, we don't know nor will ever understand. Even the greatest minds that have ever lived, believed in them (or something along them lines). I have seen stuff, humans aren't suppose to see. We were just teenagers and didn't know what we were doing. (VERY BAD STUFF!) People like to laugh, say your dumb, and crap like that. They are simple minded and don't have an open mind. Here is a very famous quote and it's very very true. "People fear what they don't understand."
  21. I have Opera, but I keeping going back to Firefox. http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/opera/spellcheck/
  22. Not too bad of a list. It's missing AkelPad (open source) and SUPERAntiSpyware (freeware). I could name a few more...
  23. We use to have a U3 version of CCleaner, but he not sending me them. If anyone can make one, please send it.
  24. Cool, we have proof. This forum is officially haunted! Sweet!
