  1. There is a chance when downloading the latest version of CCleaner that your anti-virus program will flag the installer for CCleaner to contain a Trojan, and/or a Virus. This is a what we call a "false positive". Meaning that there is actually not a virus inside the program. It's usually caused by the Google bundle that is inside the setup file. The issue is usually fixed within 24 hours. There are a few things you can do to fix the problem too. If you receive a Trojan/Virus warning when trying to install CCleaner, please report this "false positive" to the company in which makes the anti-virus program you use. You can also wait a few days until the Slim build is released (it doesn't contain the Google bundle). Thank you for using CCleaner!
  2. It doesn't contain any Trojans or viruses. It could be a false positive or it could be detecting Google Chrome install option. This happens with almost every release.
  3. How To Use Recuva To Recover Files

Have you tried running CHKDSK by any chance?
  4. Chrome history not being cleaned

CCleaner is not deleting Google Chrome History? There are a few workarounds to fix the problem. There is not a problem with CCleaner, it's because Google Chrome is cloud based. #1) Chrome is synced to your Google account. Therefore all browsing information is stored there and won't be cleaned. You can either disable History from the Chrome sync settings, or stop syncing. Go to Menu, Settings, Sign in. This will fix the problem most of the time. There is another workaround, if for some reason the above does not work. #2) When a process associated with Google Chrome is running during the cleaning operation. All internet browsers need to be closed in order for them to be cleaned properly by CCleaner. *There is a setting in Chrome that allows background applications to run after Chrome has already been closed. Go to Menu, Settings, Show advanced settings... uncheck "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed". Hopefully this will fix the problem!
  5. Any help would be appreciated

  10. Winapp2.ini additions

I can't really remember how I use to keep track of the winapp2.ini back in the day, but I think I did use the date. The year first does work better, that way you can look at the last few numbers and see if it has changed or not.

  19. Problems Cleaning NVIDIA Installer files

You are right, it's CrashDumps. It will be up to the official Piriform staff, if they use that new entry or not. As far as the cloud goes. I have no information on that, that is beyond me. I don't work for Piriform (technically), I just help out.

  21. Problems Cleaning NVIDIA Installer files

I actually looked into this myself. The NVIDIA Install Files entry seems to point to folders that don't exist anymore. Seems to be an old entry, I have created a new (updated entry) and submitted it. Hopefully it will get approved and in the new update. [NVIDIA Install Files] ID=2357 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\NVIDIA Corporation Default=True FileKey1=%SystemDrive%\NVIDIA|*.*|REMOVESELF FileKey2=%SystemDrive%\NV|*.*|REMOVESELF nVidia drivers no longer installs to the C: drive. It goes in Program Files and ProgramData. BTW, thank you for the heads up. Plus, I haven't messed with the entries in years. I was a little rusty.
  22. CCleaner Professional enables you to set up Active system monitoring. It can monitor your PC and detect whether it will benefit from a clean. When enabled, CCleaner will continue to run in the background and you’ll see an icon in the system tray. Do not close this icon or you will disable automatic monitoring and cleaning.
  23. error in defraggler

What error is it? What version of Defraggler are you on? What version of Windows are you on?
  24. Virus detected

Make sure you have downloaded CCleaner here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download If you did, it could just be a false positive. In which, it does happen time from time.
