  1. I believe you are correct. I tried the free version to see if it would work but it did not. I have not given up but I have taken a break from the frustration. One solution could be using my Recuva program directly on my Droid phone but when I download the program to my phone it will not open. The second possibility might be creating a disk image of my phone and transfer it to a thumb for my PC. Trying to do this could be way above my pay grade even if it is possible. Even then I don't know if my deleted pic files would transfer during this process.
  2. I have not given up yet. Just taking a break from the frustration.
  3. So you are telling me my pics are lost forever. Bummer
  4. I screwed up Dennis. I was editing a few pics and deleting the old versions of the edited pic. I ended up deleting the whole file instead of just one pic. My fingers where going faster than my brain I guess. Today I un-installed the whole Droid program from my PC and reloaded it again. As far as I know it is operating correctly. I tried copying the DCIM file from my phone to my PC also but that didn't work either. If I keep messing around stumbling in the dark I am afraid I might end up overwriting my pics. I am thinking about trying to transfer all my files from the internal drive to the external card on my phone if that is possible. I then could pull the card and use my card reader on my PC. I could try transferring that info to a thumb also because I know the Recuva program will read a thumb on my PC. I just don't know if deleted files will ride along on the transfer. Thanks for the help so far. It is really appreciated. If I ever get it figured out I will let you know how it happened.
  5. I do have an external card. That's why all this is so frustrating. Dummy me didn't have the camera set up to use the external card. My Recuva program will recognize a usb thumb but it can't see my phone plugged into the same usb port. I wonder if I could transfer the pic. file to my PC or even a thumb without losing the deleted pics in that file. I am tempted to try it but I better wait and make that my last option. I know this might all seem kinda silly worrying about these pics but they are very important to me. I have thousands of pics documenting my life for the last 40 plus years. If I can't recover these there will be a 5 month gap in my picture taking life.
  6. Well the odyssey continues. I can't even find where to switch on the mass storage deal on my phone. Once I click on "more" I see nothing concerning mass storage. I wish I could just download the recuva program on my phone but when I do the phone will not open the program.
  7. I will run through the mass storage deal in the morning just to see.
  8. DennisD, From what I understand, using the mass storage mode only allows me to access the external card but I may be wrong. My problem is that dummy me had my pics stored on the internal card. If I hadn't made that mistake I could have removed the external card and used a card reader to run the recovery program. Thanks for the welcome.
  9. Nergal, I plug my droid into a USB port. I can make the phone do it's normal functions interacting with my PC which means it is actually connected but when I use the Recuva program the same USB port is not recognized by the recovery program so I can't access my phone.
  10. I have your recovery program loaded on my PC. For some reason I can't download and open it on my Droid Razr HD so I am trying to recover some very important pics from my phone using my PC. The pics I need to recover are on my Droid Razr HD's internal drive (I know, Dummy me.). After connecting my phone to my PC with a USB connector I can't get your program to recognize it in the options to scan. Your scan system works excellent on my PC, I just hope there is a way to connect my phone to the same program. I am running Microsoft 7 or Google Chrome on my HP PC. Thanks for any help you can give me. Joe
