  1. If you are referring to the 2 posts here, I believe one was asking about free space cleaning and the other to file deletion. If I posted somewhere else I apologize.......I am NOT trying to “annoy” you. I don’t use forums often and maybe made a mistake. I did have another question but will get the answer elsewhere.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Is it a safe and more secure option to use with secure file deletion? Thanks Again
  3. Does all this mean when wiping free space it is safe for my computer and more secure if I use these options?
  4. Thanks all for your help. This is the info I needed. Thanks Again
  5. Thanks for your help. I have my personal files encrypted now but didn't berfore. I just deleted the old ones and didn't securely erase them...that is why I needed to wipe the free space. Does what you are saying mean that I can set ccleaner to clean regularly with just one overwrite and that is secure? If so, why do they offer the other options? Thanks
  6. That is something I think I will do...right now I want to overwrite old deleted data first and was wondering if the 1 pass simple overwrite is good enough to keep consumer data recovery software from working? I started the 3 pass option but that was going to take about 9 hours. I just want to keep the average person with data recovery software from recovering personal info if my computer is stolen. (Not worried about the NSA etc.) Also, will the drive wiper work on flash drives...I heard that formatting them does not securely erase data. Thanks for the help.
  7. I want to use Drive Wiper to clean my C Drive free space which is about 1TB in size. Is 1 overwrite enough to keep file recovery software from recovering old deleted files? I am not worried about a lab being able to restore the data...just the average person if my computer was stolen. I wasn't securely deleting files in the past but will now. I really am hoping not to have the process of cleaning free space take too many hours but will if needed. Thank You for any help.
  8. I want to keep my computer as clean as possible but I am unsure what the settings are in the attached screenshot and if they are safe to check off or if that may cause me problems. I am usings Windows7 Home Premium Internet Explorer 9 Thanks for any help.
  9. Auto-Clean option after browser shutdown would be nice.
  10. This is a little confusing to me. I have a couple of other cleaners I can use that tell me when Internet Explorer is running and offer me the option to close it for me for a proper cleaning. Even when I exit Internet Explorer sometimes it remains running, but not always. Wouldn't this mean that if I was not warned by the cleaner I would not get a proper clean?
  11. CC 4.02.4115 (64bit) IE 9 Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) Is that what you asking for?
  12. Thanks for your reply. I am using internet explorer and even if I keep it open on purpose no warning is given when I do a clean. I do have box "Hide warning messages" unticked.
  13. Other system and history cleaners I have used warn if browser is still running or offers an auto shutdown of browser before cleaning feature. Could this maybe be a part of future CCleaner versions. Often when you think you have closed your browser it can still be running.
