  1. Hope this is the proper forum. My IE6 recently has started displaying "Spanish" as I move the mouse under a word or phrase. Not that it's interfering with anything, just would like to stop that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mudd
  2. I think you people are great and doing a great service to the Veterans by recognizing them on their special day by posting on the Forum. I am a disabled Vet. I served my country for more than 20 years. I'm also one of those that got Eggs, Sh**, and cursed at San Francisco when we returned. Just to hear one person acknowledge the many that survived and the thousands that did not is a very good feeling.

  4. CaPMan From your posts it seems you have your head squared on your shoulders. Most younger generation people are totally uninterested in the distant past. I have two children, rather had as they are both middle aged people now. Neither is really interested in the 30s, 40s or the 50s even. I think they will regret that one day. I understand this as the pace of life today is so rapid as compared to my young days. I miss that very much. Glad I lived in my time. Seen, done, and enjoyed things that you younger fellows/gals will never have the opportunity to know. Enjoy your youth while you have it. It will be gone sooner than you realize. Mudd
  5. Nobody can make me feel bad about age. Man, I'm so happy that I made it this far nothing is going to change that! I refuse to be an Old Man!!!!!!! Still get my kicks out of thinking like I'm 20 or 30. Good Looking Women still look the same as they used to, Good Looking. Unless some of the old people's diseases get me I'm going to die happy and be aware of it. You young people need to appreciate what you have, try harder for what you don't have, be happy and be generous with yourself to others. That will get you a long way. Mudd
  6. It was a "necessity" in a way, in order to keep my sanity. Wish I had the space to explain it all but would take to much time and space. I am a little sad that all this technology came at a time when my days are limited and will not see the future things. What a world it has been! From a time when Radio was only for the wealthly, before TV, and now all this. It has been a blast!!!! Mudd
  7. CaPMan - You just lost your "advantage." I'm 70 and will be 71 in December. What am I doing on a board of young people? Sometime, just sometime, if you are selective and very careful one can learn from the Young. Most here seem very knowledgeable. I'm thankful that there are no restrictions of Age on the Board.

For what it's worth, I just downloaded the update which is more complicated than the older version. I had a little trouble figuring it all out. Did a lot of reading on their help windows, selected what I thought was right and what a bummer! Lost about 2MBs. Tried other settings offered, some helped, some didn't. Disgusted I returned to the older version without the update and things really picked up. So I'm staying with the older one for now. If you try the update, be advised you must have the older version installed before downloading the update. When downloading the update, pay careful attention to the instructions.

Have the standalone *.exe? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the new Link doesn't work for you, I do have a standalone but it needs updating. I'm trying to update it now. I will add it to the Forum if requested by you.

There is a program available by the name "CableNut" for free download on the internet. If you use it you can store your present settings then let it optomize all your PC setting for supposely a faster connection. I think the most logical way of seeing it is, "Running Things Wide Open." I picked almost a MB on download. The Cable Co I'm with advertise 284KB up and 3MB down. I wasn't getting this until I used the program CableNut. Now I usually average 400KB and 3.8MB down. If you use it, be careful and select the proper OS as it lists more than one.

Try "www.Jeromy.net/chr" and it will give you several hits for an average time. Offers slow to fast connections test.
