  4. Thanks for the big update!

    Missed entries: #1824

    Modified entry:

    [Apple Installer Cache*]

    LangSecRef=3023

    Detect=HKCU\Software\Apple Computer, Inc.

    Warning=You have to reinstall iTunes after adding a new windows user account.

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\*|*.*

    FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\Apple\Installer Cache\*|*.*

    Entry with typo:

    [DivX Player*]

    LangSecRef=3023

    Detect1=HKCU\Software\DivX\Settings

    Detect2=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivX Player

    Default=False

    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\DivX\Settings\Player\PlayerState|LastOpenFileLocation

    RegKey2=HKCU\Software\DivX\Settings\TransferWizard|LastBrwosedDir

    RegKey3=HKCU\Software\DivX\Settings\Converter|lastBrowseDir

    RegKey4=HKCU\Software\DivX\Settings\Converter|outputDir

    RegKey5=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivX Player|file

    I think you can remove the entry ;[Macromedia Flashplayer*], because it seems that the RegKey doesn't exist anymore.

  5. I have a Windows 7 system with 2 user accounts. I added another account. I was not able to open iTunes from the newely created user account, It was asking me that the installer is not present. I have to uninstall the iTunes and re-install it.

    Strange, iTunes showed this behaviour only after I removed the empty subfolders from the cache folder. That's why the entry doesn't remove the subfolders and deletes the files only. Anyway I think it's better to add a warning line for this special case, instead of removing the entry. I never had problems with QuickTime and iTunes until now.

    Warning=You have to reinstall iTunes after adding a new windows user account.

    As for the [Registry Transaction Logs*] entry can you tell why there is a need to remove the .regtrans-ms files from the system? Most of these files are locked and even you try to remove them they will come back after rebooting the system. ...

    Thanks for your information. I don't use this entry. So the creator of the entry should comment this please.

    'Warning' in the entry explains it why.

    My suggestion is that entries for deleting setup files should be separate entries always. So everybody will be happy. :)

    [Windows Live Messenger Setup Files*]
    LangSecRef=3022
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live\Messenger
    Warning=After running this, you will not be able to uninstall Windows Live Essentials components without downloading the installer again.
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalLowAppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live\Setup|*.*|REMOVESELF

  6. Thanks for the update.

    Missed entries / suggestions:

    #1695

    #1690

    I found some typos:

    [Teamviewer Past Connections*]

    LangSecRef=3024

    Detect=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\

    Default=False

    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version5|Last_Machine_Connections

    RegKey2=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version5.1|Last_Machine_Connections

    RegKey3=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version6|Last_Machine_Connections

    RegKey4=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version7\Last_Machine_Connections

    FileKey1=%AppData%\TeamViewer|*.*

    And does anybody know if the backslash before "Last_Machine_Connections" is correct on RegKey4? Shouldn't it be a pipe | symbol?

    [Ability Office*]

    LangSecRef=3021

    Detect=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\

    Default=False

    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Write\Files

    RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Database\Recent File List

    RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability PhotoPaint\Recent File List

    RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability PhotoPaint Studio\Recent File List

    RegKey5=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Spreadsheet\Recent File List

    FileKey1=%Documents%\My Ability Files|*.*|RECURSE

  7. What do you guys think would be best? The DetectFile for flash or the DetectFile for Chome(s)

    Also with Chrome the temp folders for Flash are still the same, so the DetectFile for Flash should be enough.

    Based on the recent discussion, here is my suggestion for the Flash entries:

    [Adobe Flash Player More*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer
    DetectFile=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey2=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log

    [Adobe Flash Player Settings*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer
    DetectFile=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\
    Warning=This will delete all your settings, including saved data from flash games!
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE

  8. are all those DetectFiles necessary for Flash Player More*?

    why not use a DetectFile for the flash folder itself?

    DetectFile1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\

    You are absolutely right! We can use the path of a FileKey line also for a DetectFile line. Sometimes you don't see the obvious. :)

  9. My settings.sol does not contain the domain information because I have the following settings selected (for security reasons) via the Flash control panel applet:

    - Block all sites from storing information on this computer.

    - Block all sites from using the camera and microphone.

    - Block all sites from using peer-assisted networking.

    I use the same settings. That's why I wrote this previous post: 1711. But I think that most users never change the settings, so maybe the new and more "aggressive" entry could be better. But because we don't know what the majority wants, your suggestion for a separate entry would be a fair solution.

  10. I do not like the suggestion of this modification to Flash Player More*. Deleting settings.sol deletes the global settings of Flash Player as set up via the Flash Player Control Panel applet.

    Yes, I know this. But as Nergal wrote already, a bad thing is that the "settings.sol" also contains a complete list of all visited domains using flash! I don't know what is more important here, settings or privacy?

    If you want to keep your settings you can add this line:

    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol

  11. Updated!

    Thanks for the updated file. You've missed few posts / entries: #1695 and #1690.

    Maybe you can modify the "Flash Player" entry and add a warning message:

    [Adobe Flash Player More*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect1=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer
    Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium
    DetectFile1=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile2=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile3=%localappdata%\Flock\Application\flock.exe
    DetectFile4=%ProgramFiles%\Flock\Application\flock.exe
    DetectFile5=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile6=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile7=%localappdata%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe
    DetectFile8=%ProgramFiles%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe
    DetectFile9=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\chrome.exe
    DetectFile10=%localappdata%\Chromium\chrome.exe
    DetectFile11=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile12=%localappdata%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile13=%AppData%\ChromePlus\chrome.exe
    DetectFile14=%localappdata%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe
    DetectFile15=%ProgramFiles%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe
    DetectFile16=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
    DetectFile17=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
    Warning=This will delete your settings, including saved data from flash games!
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
    FileKey4=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log

  12. the point of flash player more is to remove settings.sol else just use in ccleaner's built adobe flash check, or exclude the file in your own (I actually remove the entry completely )

    Sorry, but you are wrong. The current entry clears the AssetCache and the FlashInstall.log only.

    [Adobe Flash Player More*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey2=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log

    And I don't think that anybody really wants to delete the settings of a program.

    that and the handful of others are used to detect chrome, you need them all

    You are right, thanks! Here are all detect lines:

    Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium
    DetectFile1=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile2=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile3=%localappdata%\Flock\Application\flock.exe
    DetectFile4=%ProgramFiles%\Flock\Application\flock.exe
    DetectFile5=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile6=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile7=%localappdata%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe
    DetectFile8=%ProgramFiles%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe
    DetectFile9=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\chrome.exe
    DetectFile10=%localappdata%\Chromium\chrome.exe
    DetectFile11=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile12=%localappdata%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe
    DetectFile13=%AppData%\ChromePlus\chrome.exe
    DetectFile14=%localappdata%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe
    DetectFile15=%ProgramFiles%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe
    DetectFile16=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
    DetectFile17=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe

  13. If you add this line to the entry [Adobe Flash Player More*]:

    %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE

    You have to add this line also:

    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol

    Otherwise all your settings are gone!

    Example for modified entry:

    [Adobe Flash Player More*]
    LangSecRef=3023
    Detect1=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer
    Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
    FileKey4=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol
