  1. Keepass is the best way You can do. Multi platform, opensource, free. It stores Your data(!) not just passwords.. many other filed can be created. The database is a file. A simple, and small file. You can store it on Your computer, and You can upload it to eg. Dropbox, to have it everywhere, and on every device You use. Dropbox is free up to 2GB. ...and also multiplatform too... You could access Your passwords and other sensitive data on Your phone, notebook, pc. Recommended combo for everyone, who wants to store sensitive data in a really SECURE way. Your database file will be encrypted VERY STRONG so don't care if Your database file got in others hand... never mind... So if Your are affraid of Dropbox's server.. don't be affraid
  2. The failure comes in focus, when a file is in a folder that name has a DOT inside, eg.: C:\Users\Thales\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\347sqc3y.default\places.sqlite-wal
