  1. I have to say that the UI of 5.0 is really bad.

It looks like a child sat down and tried to copy what he/she saw, by memory.

It has been my experience that creators/companies that decide to "improve" the UI of their products rarely care about the opinions of their user community.

Complaining about it will probably not move them to reconsider the changes. In their minds the "more modern" design will always look better, just because they designed it.

Anyway, if the updated UI goes ahead, I'll likely stay with version 4 until I can find a replacement program.

I am a diehard Windows XP user, and the new UI looks so out of place that it would be difficult to continue to use it.

My plans are to build a nice Windows 7 machine, but it probably looks just as bad there.

Obviously, designed with Windows 8 in mind, and with little consideration for everyone else.

It's going to be a sad day indeed, when version 5 makes it's debut.

Very wise words my friend. Definitely agree.

  2. You really should offer two different GUI versions to download, one for Windows 7 and one for Windows 8.

    Example: (Or)

If you run CCleaner on Windows 7 it should ask if you would like to enable Windows 8 mode or keep the Windows 7 mode. (Mode means the new GUI).

I think that bunch of CCleaner users might stop using CCleaner if there's no any chance to revert back to Windows 7 GUI, sad but true.

  3. It should work on XP:

Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP. Including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, but not RT tablet editions.

Try to use different web browser.

  4. Right click your desktop shortcut and select Properties, then select Compatibility tab, then select Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 and then tick Run this program as an Administrator box and then hit Apply and OK.

    This might help.

  5. I definitely agree, "Wipe free space" current location is kinda odd, "Drive Wiper" section would be more convenient.

And I also agree with "Active monitoring" suggestions.

I hope your suggestions gets the attention it truly deserves.

  6. I might have similar problems, but with GPU ram, I have 8GB of GDDR5 ram, and Speccy shows it as 4GB GDDR5. Nvidia Control Panel shows it right. Speccy is not the only app which shows my GPU ram incorrectly. Maybe 880M is quite new GPU model from Nvidia that all the system nfo apps does not recognize the full amount of GPU ram yet.

My laptop model is MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro - 1616NE.

  7. Try to update your USB3.0 drivers, I had this similar bug where drives didn't get recognized properly. Update your USB3.0 drivers and then restart your computer. I'm assuming that you need Intel's drivers, here's the latest driver for you:

For Intel 7 chipset family: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21129&lang=eng&ProdId=3467

For Intel 8 chipset family: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22824&lang=eng&ProdId=3467

Chipset Family 8 is for the newest Intel's Haswell processors, and 7 is for older processor models. Make sure you install the right one because you get bsod.

Also remember to check your OS model, because these drivers are comfirmed working only on Windows 7 and up.

  9. Oh and the "Like this" buttons in posts doesn't function, same as the old vote up/down system on the old software never worked, with the same "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" error message.

This "bug" is still present. I haven't clicked Like button yet, when I tried it today it gave me that error message. Tested with Chromium and IE.
