  1. Just like to say thanks to the developers for fixing the cookie deletion problem I was having that I reported in the forums. I've just updated to the new version and it now works perfectly! Great one guys!
  2. Windows 10 Pro version: 1709 CC version: 5.37.6309. No enhancements used. A few months ago it was working fine, I only seemed to notice after I was still logged into sites after cleaning. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but the same thing keeps happening. Edit: I've just tried to delete cookies using other applications and the same thing seems to be happening so I'm thinking either it is specific to the Windows Fall update or it is just my PC. After every clean in results there are no C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache entries and while I don't routinely remember all the folders CCleaner cleans while dealing with cookies I'm fairly sure this one used to be cleaned, along with an index.dat file if I'm correct. It no longer does this.
  3. Hi, So I've posted two threads about CCleaner not deleting certain cookies, and I've checked into it and have noticed that while CCleaner is clearing Domstorage it is not clearing C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache and I'm pretty sure it used to do this. The only cookie being deleted in this folder is something called a deprecated cookie. Any ideas why this is happening?
  4. A few weeks ago I posted on here about after clearing Internet Explorer cookies suggested videos were still being shown on YouTube based on my viewing habits and they would only disappear after deleting cookies using Windows Internet Options. Now I've noticed after cleaning with CCleaner that I'm still signed in to Facebook. Only after using Windows Internet Options do I have to sign in again. What's going on? It's like CCleaner no longer clears all cookies. For the record, I do not have any cookies set to keep. I've also just noticed that I'm still signed in to Piriform forums despite the fact that I should be signed out. Also clearing on Edge is not working either, I noticed I was still signed in on Facebook with all Edge options ticked on CCleaner. Only by using the normal Edge clearing history options would it work.
  5. Hi, There are no youtube cookies set to keep. I actually removed all cookies to keep to see if it would clean the youtube recommendations and it still didn't work. As I said, no big deal but it just seems weird that CCleaner can't seem to be able to do this where as the Microsoft Internet Options can.
  6. Hi, Not really a major problem, but the other day after cleaning cookies, tif, and history with CCleaner I noticed that recommendations based on my youtube viewing habits were still being shown, leading me to believe that it is not clearing youtube cookies. I don't sign in on youtube so it's not connected with that. I have set a few cookies to be saved but none of them are youtube. If I clean with the standard IE internet options when I visit youtube the recommendations based on viewing habits are gone and the page is back to a default viewing. Any idea what's going on?
  7. hey folks, i am using windows 7 (64-bit), ie9 and ccleaner v3.23.1823 (simple overwrite) and my default temporary internet files location at: c:\users\paul\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet files changed to c:\users\paul\appdata\local\temp. this has happened a few times in the past after running simple overwrite. when this happens i have to always restore via an earlier system image because when i use the move folder to move it back to c:\users\paul\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet files the location changes but when the log off/on procedure completes it goes back to c:\users\paul\appdata\local\temp. i must stress this doesn't happen everytime but i would like to know how to prevent this in the future, or, failing that, how to resolve it back to its default location so it no longer writes to the c:\users\paul\appdata\local\temp. thankyou.
  8. Hi, If I download a file to my Downloads folder and then move that file to the Videos folder and then later securely delete that file from the Videos folder will there be any remnants of that file in the original Downloads folder? I am also aware that you can set up CCleaner to securely delete from the Recycle Bin so I suppose this question could also be applied to files that you delete normally and then securely delete from the Recycle Bin. If I was to use a one-wipe secure "Delete from Recycle Bin" option, can traces of the file be left when you normally delete the file from its original folder?
  9. Hi Nergal, I think this must be the problem as it is only large files that CCleaner is having a problem deleting. All my attempts at small file deletion have been successful. Should I report this in the bug thread so the developers can see it or are they already aware of the problem?
  10. I just tested it on a small file and changed the %UserProfile%\My Documents\My Videos to %UserProfile%\My Videos and CCleaner couldn't find the file at all; when I changed back to %UserProfile%\My Documents\My Videos it found it and deleted it no problem, despite the fact that I'm using Windows 7 and My Videos are not located within a My Documents folder! Note that the file deleted was a small MB file which CCleaner doesn't seem to have a problem deleting.
  11. Okay, many thanks Winapp2.ini. I will try it out!
  12. Hi Nergal, I updated the information in Winapp2.ini to match what you put in your post and still no luck but I think I might know the cause of the problem. I had a theory that it might be the size of the file being deleted. All the files which I have been using CCleaner to delete unsuccessfully have been 600MB+ and I wondered if CCleaner was having a problem deleting them because they were so large. I performed a test by watching a few 3 minute Divx trailers so that the files generated in the Temporary Internet Files folder would only be a few megabytes in size and then cleaned with CCleaner; in every case the files were deleted with no problem at all so I'm guessing it may be down to the size of the file. I'm wondering if other people have had problems cleaning large .part files and if so whether it should be reported as a bug?
  13. No, Windows 7 (64-bit). Does that have a different entry in Winapp2?
  14. Hello, Here are the lines: [DivX Movies Cache] LangSecRef=3023 Detect=HKLM\Software\DivX Default=False FileKey1=%userprofile%\My Documents\My Videos\DivX Movies|*.*|RECURSE RegKey1=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry1 RegKey2=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry2 RegKey3=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry3 RegKey4=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry4 RegKey5=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry5 RegKey6=HKCU\Software\DivXNetworks\DivXBrowserPlugin|cacheEntry6 I added the above to a notepad file which was renamed Winapp2.ini and placed in the CCleaner program folder as tutorial dictated. Like I said in previous post, the file will delete if I keep running CCleaner enough times but will never first time. It also clearly sees the file as it shows up for about 20 seconds during deletion, which is the time I'd expect as it is performing a secure 1 pass wipe. I was wondering if the file couldn't be deleted first time because it is in use but I would have thought that would only be the case if I had the Divx Web player still running in browser, which it is not.
